Not Bad For the Money
Like any municipal course, it has it's different maintenance issues. The greens are very spotty and beat up. But for $15 including cart it's not too bad.
Value of the dollar
Greens were very rough but a good deal with open play for the money
Good Choice Considering Price
Sapulpa's course is flat as a pancake except where a large creek runs through it. The polar opposite of Sand Springs just north of it. But Sapulpa claims WAY more water on the course. Tons of it.
The layout is competent, but not inspired. They do mostly avoid just straight fairways between a line of trees. But aside from trying to miss the water hazards there is little challenge. Apparently there is no sand in Sapulpa.
About the title. At least they do not take themselves too seriously in Sapulpa. The green fee and/or cart are quite reasonable. If your budget influences where you play, I say give it a try. And don't worry about underdressing. This is Sapulpa, you know.
Not bad for the money
I've played this course several times this year. Always a friendly staff and the pace of play is well managed. The course itself is fine...nothing to special but a nice course for the cost. This has become my go-to place to practice.
Sapulpa ok.
This is a fun course and it is very reasonably priced we love it there.
Don't bother
Layout is decent. Decent shape. Pro shop staff easily the rudest I have ever encountered. Pace of play can also be pretty slow.
Weekday Golf
Hole 13 is under construction par 5, now playing as par 3. Weekday golfers have groups of 5 older men and they will harass and skip holes to pass you. I've played in the weekends and never had that happen.
great shape for winter golf
the course was in great shape for the last of january, was a very enjoyable day
Meh...
Not a bad course for the money. Pretty challenging layout. The worse part about this course is the players. I played by myself, my pace was decent. I ran up behind a group of 12 people playing a scramble not facilitated by the course that would not let me play thru.
Great course
I would recommend this course to anyone. It's a very challenging test.
Fun
I enjoyed the day of golf, overall good course and will play there again.
Good Course, Good Value
This modest golf course provides a good playing experience, and a very good value for the discounted fees available on golfnow.com. The course is relatively short, and open in most areas. There are very few bunkers. Most of the greens are nice bent-grass greens in good condition. On the back side there are several that need work, with large dirt patches. The course plays relatively easy, and almost every hole can be birdied. I gave two stars to pace-of-play because this course has many scrambles and money games going on, where five and six player groups clog the action. But if you can get outside of these guys, you can zip through the course quickly. If they had half-starts, I would give this one a 3.5 stars overall rating. Sapulpa Golf Course is worth the drive from Tulsa, for an inexpensive round on (mostly) good bent-grass greens!
course conditions
This course is only 44 years old compared to allot of other traditional courses. I feel , as courses go, that older courses produce appealing foliage and better course conditions as the course ages. Very courteous staff.
Great value.
Some greens were in pretty bad shape, otherwise course condition was ok.
grest course
Was a lot of fun some of the greens weren't all that great but overall not bad place to play a round of golf
Like the layout of the course
Greens were in bad shape. Other than that I really liked the course.
Bad information
I was never told till I got to the corse that only half was open due to aerating back nine. Was told front 9 was open but after playing first hole found out the whole course is being aerated and the greens are not playable due to them being all sand. Normally an ok course, don't play for the next month if you want to putt
nice par 3's
Greens are struggling, maybe because late in summer?
Great Value at a Good Course
Sapulpa is a tougher course than most expect. It has sneaky length and water on 15 of the 18 holes as Rock Creek winds through the course. But the course is fair. The greens are fair. They are mowed and rolled very consistent. During the hotter months, some of the fairways take a beating, but that's normal around these parts. The course isn't hard to walk as it is fairly level. The prices there are solid. The concessions aren't over priced. And Dale and his staff do a good job making you feel welcome.
