Terrible Greens
The greens were in very poor shape last year and have not improved much this year. I wouldn't pay more than $10 to play a round of golf here again. Much better value at any of the OKC public courses.
Greens and teeboxes were BAD.
Staff was friendly and it was inexpensive to play on a hot deal. I would have been mad if we would have paid full price given the condition of the course. Greens lacked grass, had been heavily aerated, and don't appear to have been watered in quite some time. Tee boxes were chewed up and hard as a rock. One of the club members said you need to take a screwdriver with you to make a hole for your tee. Fairways were brown. I think they are trying to conserve water except on the tee box that the sprinkler sprayed us down on just before we feed off. Pace of play was outstanding as we never saw anyone in front of or behind us. I suppose everyone else already knew about the conditions and didn't play here.
Concrete
Doesn’t look like it’s been watered in over a month. Brutal
course has added 9 more holes.
course was in good shape however greens where cut short and fast but too short and with the hot dry conditions over the last 2 weeks they are in danger of loosing greens if they don't get lots of water on them. played from 10:30 to 4 and NO maintenance person was out watering greens!! need to also turn on sprinklers on fairways as well. course is drying out fast!!
Ripoff
This course has to be in financial trouble as bad as this course has become. Please don't waste your time or money. The worst course I truly think I've ever played. I guess they can't even afford to put drinking water on the course for the players. What a train wreck! They'll never steal my money again.
Had a discount tee and still not worth it
Honestly shocked anyone would pay a membership to golf at this establishment. The tee boxes were awful. I think maybe because it rained a few days ago but this looks unkept for longer than that. I can get over tee boxes.
What I cannot get over is their horrid greens. If you like your ball bouncing after a putt this is your spot. Holes everywhere on the green. It’s late enough in the season. Why are your greens terrible? You also are basically putting in a bunker. Sand everywhere. It was just awful. I thought I would put the other bad reviews to the side and enjoy it but i was sadly mistaken. My buddies apartment complex golf course is better than this “country club”.
Also a fivesome in front of us on a Sunday? Slower than slow.
Layout is trash.
2/10 would never return to this sand trap of a course.
Don’t pay full price
The guy in the pro shop was rude and in helpful. They don’t care about you if you’re not a member. I arrived an hour before my tee time and saw there were 3 foursomes that we’re going to be in front of me so I asked to go out before them and was told no, that he had “no control over that.” Was told I was starting on the new 9 they had built. ALL GREENS had been previously worked and sucked hitting into and putting on. The ball would land and bounce up and run off. Tee boxes weren’t cut down, no sand in bunkers. There was no ice in ANY of the water jugs, and tasted just like a rubber water hose. There was no “cart girl” or anyone driving around checking pace of play or selling food and drinks. At the turn I ordered a burger that took 25 minutes to make. The guy in there was rude and was only concerned with talking to the older ladies that were there and who were members of course. It was a bad experience overall. I played by myself and had to skip 4 holes because the pace of play was so bad. Luckily I got a cheap price through GolfNow, because I received bad/rude service and a bad taste in my mouth for the course and their employees.
Good value, nice course
Staff was friendly and the course was in good shape. They could use more yardage markers as it was hard to tell distance a lot of the time. They need to open up the "new" nine to non-members. Greens rolled true and were very fast on the day we were there.
Very nice course and very nice and polite staff.
Greens were a little thin in places but I bet they will be by end of summer in good shape. I will go back.
Don't waste your time
Absolutely the worst greens and bunkers I've ever played in my lifetime. Disgraceful.
More for golf now
Course is fun need to cut greens. This is directed to golfnow, the supposed reward system which according to them is better id wrong,I and many others would prefer the 25 points per hot deal more advantage to us,also the stipulation that you use your reward Monday thru Thursday which is fine with me I am retired, but the fact you have to use it three days or more in advance is not good.I dont know who sets the pricea or tee times g.n.or the course but the closer you get to the tee time the price lowers,so in essence the reward is diminished. Also in my case there are no gn courses any closer than 50 miles that offer tee times after noon another stipilation.in other words what good is being a v.i.p?Can't gn sign up any courses in Oklahoma city,Midwest city,or Edmond? There are so many courses in this area and it would be nice not to have to drive all over Oklahoma to play.V.I.P?
Nice Layout, Bad timing for Me
Somewhat enjoyed playing Surrey Hills. Nice layout. Great par 5 on the front. A 600 plus yarder which is very challenging. Greens on the front 9 were decent fairways good. Greens on the back 9 were a disaster. Fairways good. I believe some type of maintenance was being done they were un puttable. A shame. They should have closed the back nine.
This ruined an otherwise good round
Great shape!
The staff is courteous as always. The greens and fairways are in great shape! I haven't seen greens in that kind of shape anywhere in a long time! The only thing that could have added to our experience is a drink cart out on the course. Surprised there was no one out on a long holiday weekend. (Labor Day)
Surrey Hills Golf Club
Nice course but needed greens cut and traps worked on a little—mostly raked.
Challenging Course
Nice layout, challenging course. Definite rewards for staying in the fairway. Greens in great shape. Friendly staff. We played the round in about 3 1/2 hrs.
It has returned
The last few years has been pretty tough for this course. But, they seemed to have corrected the problems with the greens and now, it is in real good shape. No more patches on the green, although they were a tad slow, but was told that when we checked in.
The fairways were excellent, and we will be going back when we get the chance. The only true drawback to the day was the water in the coolers on the course. By the time, the afternoon rolled around, most of the containers were just about dry, and it was pushing a 100 on this day.
Glad it came back on list for use
I enjoyed playing this course once again, the course was in good shape but you can tell the old boy menbers rule the roost.perhaps that is the way it should be.but it tends to slow down play.
