Decent but overpriced
Surrey is a decent course. But there is absolutely no way I would pay $275 per month for a membership, and even at $40 per round it’s a bit much for what is offered. Greens have been lacking for some time (on this day they were sandy and aerated). If I had the choice between this or Crimson Creek in El Reno, Crimson wins every time because of cost alone.
Played the “new” back 9 today. They were barely maintained and you can lose a ball that is hit in the middle of what the fairway would be.
Definitely needs more TLC, especially if they want to charge $40/round or gain memberships.
Terrible greens
I’ve played this course several times over the last couple years. My old home town course was similar to the greens they have but $18 a round makes up for crappy greens. I know they have new greens but at some point you can’t use that excuse anymore they are no longer new. I’d recommend they fire whoever is in charge of that and replace them. You can play a very nice city course for the same price they charge or go to El Reno and play their course for a much cheaper price. Surrey hills should never charge more than $20 for their very very crappy greens.
New greens!
Many of the reviews I read said the greens were horrible. I was talking to Keith about shoes, and when I brought up the greens he said the new management had them redone this year. I played 18 and everything seemed well maintained to me, I’ll definitely be going back. The staff was very helpful and friendly, despite the challenges Covid-19 has brought..
Surrey Green's are Back!
Greens are growing in again, best in a year. Once they finishing growing in just need to be rolled and are in much better condition.
Covid golf
There was a group of member’s that was totally ignoring the 4 golfer per hole rule. There were 6 all standing in close proximity. It was very disappointing to see and it slowed down play to a halt. There was no marshal.
Greens need some work
The course wasn’t bad. It has a decent layout and is pretty open but the greens are horrible.
Terrible greens
Very dissatisfied! Greens are really bad!! No course map! Ridiculous! Cart oaths are horrific!
Several Challenging Holes
The course has three, 9 hole layouts. The course has holes that are both somewhat easy, and challenging as well. If you like the challenge of water, and creeks; then, this course is for you.
Surrey Hill one last time before winter
Greens were quick but not true. Green need improvement next spring. Rest of course was acceptable
Great layout, horrible conditions.
The course layout was really great. It offered some challenging holes, specifically the par 5 3rd. Nice double dog leg layout with an elevated approach shot over a creek. However, the greens are absolutely awful. These recent reviews are hammering the course for this and rightfully so. I paid $32.69 on a Thursday afternoon, which I thought was a pretty fair deal until I stepped foot on the first green. You will be putting on dirt/sand with minimal amount of grass throughout your round. If management is going to continue with these conditions they need to consider lowering their prices. You can pay the same amount on a Thursday afternoon at OKC's public courses and receive 100 times better quality.
Not worth it
I’ve played Surrey off and on through the years, and after my last 2 rounds, I won’t be back. Greens are horrible, and the attitude of the staff is unfriendly at best. If you use GolfNow, they act like you’re cheating them out of money. They think they are this high end facility and they’re not.
Greens in bad shape
The course has a decent layout but some of the greens are completely fried no grass at all just dirt and sand. In all fairness it’s been hot in OKC but if it’s going to be dry do they have to be bumpy too? Overall I like the course and it was a great deal on Golfnow.
Terrible every year
This course is a nice layout within a neighborhood, but the course is TERRIBLE! Every year the greens burn up, tee boxes are taken care of and hard as a rock. They have some sorta excuse every single year and say it is unacceptable and will be fixed. Then it’s even worse the next year. Management needs to be fired and the course revamped by someone who cares about it. Backed out of a tournament this weekend because of how bad it is.
Greens are dead again. Haven't seen them alive
I've played here 3 times in 3 years and the greens have been absolutely wrecked every time. Waited at bar for several minutes between 9's to grab a couple beers. No bar tender. I was later told you go to the pro shop to get beer instead of the bar. No. It's also time to move on from the greenskeeper who keeps absolutely ruining the course every summer. If other courses can charge the same fee's and have FAR better courses then i think they should be able to.
Terrible Greens
The greens were in very poor shape last year and have not improved much this year. I wouldn't pay more than $10 to play a round of golf here again. Much better value at any of the OKC public courses.
Greens and teeboxes were BAD.
Staff was friendly and it was inexpensive to play on a hot deal. I would have been mad if we would have paid full price given the condition of the course. Greens lacked grass, had been heavily aerated, and don't appear to have been watered in quite some time. Tee boxes were chewed up and hard as a rock. One of the club members said you need to take a screwdriver with you to make a hole for your tee. Fairways were brown. I think they are trying to conserve water except on the tee box that the sprinkler sprayed us down on just before we feed off. Pace of play was outstanding as we never saw anyone in front of or behind us. I suppose everyone else already knew about the conditions and didn't play here.
Concrete
Doesn’t look like it’s been watered in over a month. Brutal
course has added 9 more holes.
course was in good shape however greens where cut short and fast but too short and with the hot dry conditions over the last 2 weeks they are in danger of loosing greens if they don't get lots of water on them. played from 10:30 to 4 and NO maintenance person was out watering greens!! need to also turn on sprinklers on fairways as well. course is drying out fast!!
Ripoff
This course has to be in financial trouble as bad as this course has become. Please don't waste your time or money. The worst course I truly think I've ever played. I guess they can't even afford to put drinking water on the course for the players. What a train wreck! They'll never steal my money again.
