Oak Knoll Golf Course & Driving Range

when I first came to the course this summer I was shocked at the conditions the greens and fairways were in bad condition nothing was watered for some time. there was no water for the golfers on the course. now they are in good condition the staff are nice and the food is great and there is plenty of water on the course for the golfers. thank you to oak knoll making the changes to a good course to make it better.

The T Boxes needed mowing. The greens could be rolled, weeded and air-rated. The fairways were in great shape considering the weather we have had this summer. The course could use some additional bunkers to make it more challenging.

A fairly warm late summer afternoon in Oregon but a round of golf was necessary to keep my sanity. I found Oak Knoll just the place to do this. The staff were friendly and the grass in the fairways green. A lot of the roughs were brown as expected for this time of year. The greens were soft yet the ball rolled well. Was happy for the shade from the tall pine trees even though they did create a challenge when a shot went awry.

Played 18 with a buddy, pace was good- no hang ups , course played nice though some greens too soft (soggy) for my liking- great customer service. For the value it's an average course- check golf now for steals .

many areas with little or no grass
tee boxes with 2 inch tall grass
at full rate, overpriced for the condition of the course
compared to other courses in the Salem area

Very friendly staff took care of us! The whole course was well taken care of and the online hot price for a prepaid price was fantastic. Started golfing again after 20 plus years and this course is one of my favorites plus 10minutes from home

First time playing here. Staff was friendly. Several fairways were dry and hard. Overall had a good time nice pace on the day I went not too busy.

Just an OK course. Minimal (if any) watering in fairways.

I can't complain about the price... I held out for 50% off for the tee time that I got, but I wouldn't pay more than $20 for 18 at this course once the place dries up. Even the fairways were hard and had areas where there was not much more than dry dirt. It's not the worse I've played, but it was just plain dry. We had a 4-some in front of us and the Marshall told us 'good luck' when we said we were doing a lot of waiting and they wouldn't let us play through. Thankfully, it was a gorgeous day and I wasn't in a hurry. Overall: meh.

Good for the $ some spots re to hard but I had fun.

was good place to work on basic things. I wish they could create some things that would make this course more difficult or interesting

We got the nod to tee off about 20min before our scheduled tee time. We let a single play through on the third hole and breezed through the front on 1-3/4 hours. When we made the turn there was a foursome on the tee and two twosomes in line.

Only the second twosome let use play ahead.

yes it is ! The fairways need some improved irrigation and drainage. The greens are tiny and still need some work. But they are trying hard and it is so much better than a few years ago. 40 years ago it was a a GREAT course in the Salem area.

I highly recommend this course for buddies for inexpensive afternoon, couple and single out to practice. It is very casual. The food is great in the club house. They have a nice range and chipping, bunker practice area.

Did I mention the tiny greens? Especially for long par 3's and par 4 approaches at a course where the wind can really blow.

Bring your ground game here, with the thin fairways you can roll it on.

Having played this course many times over the years, it's looking somewhat better. My only complaint this day, would be a number of overly hard fairways(not enough water?) resulting in odd bounces, etc. Other then that, it played fine.

My dad and I went out as a 2 and was paired up with a member. We made a friend and had a great day of golfing. Great job Oak Knoll.

The distance were fair and challenge on a couple of long par 3 holes. Would like to see better distance markers and some greens are challenging on the size to land your ball

This was one of the more enjoyable rounds of goals recently. The pace was great compared to other courses in the area which made the experience excellent. Oak Knoll has improved their greens and overall care of the course.

Their greens are relatively small which makes it difficult to score well despite the less challenging fairways.

I've played this course sporadically over the years, and it definitely went through some dark times, but the current crew have really begun to turn things around.

The course was in the best condition I've seen, and the staff are more knowledgeable and friendly than in years past.

I've always enjoyed the layout and design of this track, and it's nice to finally see those features being brought to life, rather than drowning in soggy fairways and swampy/lumpy greens.

And they make a mean hot dog.

I, have played this course for years and it's the best it has every looked. I had a great time and the staff made my experience much better. The overall feel will bring me back sooner and with more friends. I'm really glad I took the time to go and play becacuse I could have missed out on something really good. Keep up the good work because I will do my part to get more people out to this good course.
