About
McNary Golf Club is located on the site that once was the homestead of Charles McNary (1874-1944), prominent Oregon Congressman, lawyer, and vice-presidential running mate of Wendell Willkie. Since he was an ardent golfer, it is appropriate that this course was named in his honor at its opening in 1962. The course was developed by Jim Sill who wanted to build an enjoyable course for the average golfer. Initially, the McNary home was used as the clubhouse. Today, modern clubhouse facilities, including the well known McNary Restaurant & Lounge, overlook the course. All the necessary amenities are available. The golf course features lush fairways, spacious greens, and hazards that provide a challenge for all golfers. Claggett Creek comes into play on holes 1, 9, 10, and 18. The challenge and beauty of the course has also been augmented with several small lakes with fountains.

Nice lay out and fun to play.
McNary golf is a fun course to play if you’re in the Portland area. Nice layout fairways and greens were in good shape. Would play it again when I return to Portland.
McNary is a fun course!
McNary is a fun and challenging track that forces you to move the ball both ways off the tee box. While there are some short par-4s, that doesn't mean they are easy. The greens have a lot of slope and were in nice condition.
The staff is always accommodating and friendly.
Because it winds through a residential community there is some distance between tee boxes. If it is hot out, grab a cart! Give McNary a try!
Great condition
I don't think you can find more value for the money down I-5 in the valley. Awesome cart GPS, greens great, fairways great, tee boxes great, $66 fantastic! Will be back.
Great greens
The staff was really friendly and so helpful in setting up my foursome I played with. Great layout on the course. Afterwards went to the restaurant and the food and drinks were great
Great day!
We played Friday afternoon. The weather was perfect!! The greens were recently plugged and sanded but we knew that prior to playing so it was no big deal. The rest of the course is it great shape!
Challenging course
Lots of hole variation. Get a cart. It runs through and around a housing development so there can be some walking between tee boxes. Plenty of room for drive so don't feel crowded unless you get really offline. Greens are in great shape.
Great course, older gentleman rather rude
We booked the round through the tee off app and got a great deal. However, the older shorter gentleman in the pro shop, presumably the manager was very upset we got such a great deal on the round. Therefore, he made us pay an extra $50 for my wife to ride around in the cart who wasn’t playing. I expected to pay for her seat, but he made us pay for a full extra golf cart and was not very kind about the situation. The course was in excellent condition and a fun round. However, if you’re gonna be rude about booking the round through an app at a discount, maybe don’t put the teetimes on there.
