Oregon City Golf Club
About
Oregon City Golf Club was originally built in 1922 as a nine-hole course. In 1960, the second nine was added bringing the total yardage to 5,940. It had no sand traps but did contain plenty of trees and rolling fairways.
Today, the course has been updated with sand traps on most holes, water on three, and the same rolling fairways and trees that have grown significantly larger. The drainage is excellent which makes it an outstanding winter course. A new clubhouse was completed in 1997 which provides all the amenities a golfer could need; including a fully stocked pro-shop, snack bar, 2,400 ft. banquet facility, putting green, and a large outside deck for your pre or post round refreshments.

A bad day on the course trumps any good day at work. Photo submitted by u268790960 on 03/23/2022

Almost a hole in one! Photo submitted by burrellpalmer on 04/20/2020
The course is in good condition, no waiting at all.
Friendly service, fun course!!
Really fun course to play. Par 4's you can attack. Very friendly employees, even delivered our food after the turn.
Fun in the sun!
We played on the warmest day since last fall so it was pretty hot. . Pace of play was very slow on the front nine due to a ladies group in front of us. We couldn't play through. That was 2 1/2 hours. Second nine was very fast play and we finished in under two hours. The greens were well groomed. Rough was pretty tall and uncut. Overall we had a good day.
Worst conditions I've played on this winter
Greens were covered with "Beading" water... and almost as thick as some fairways in the summer as they hadn't been mowed since who knows. It did rain this day but was beautiful the day before so I am not sure what the deal was on the greens. The fairways were not so bad but definitely won't be going back for at least months. For the price there are way too many courses in the area to play this one if you are looking for value
Excellent
For this time of year drainage was very good, greens a little slow but overall it was good experience, I had trouble with my pull cart, the girl, who works there, noticed and came out and helped me out. Thanks
Still wet
Soggy greens. Ball would plug on hitting the green. Some fairways very soft and muddy. When it drys out, will be much better. considering the latest snow and ice, I was surprised it played as good as it did. Looking forward to some sun and warmth to finish improving the course.
Very close.......easy access, well kept greens .
Our home course because of the access. Course well kept, greens maintained extremely well.......rare to see ball marks . Retired so very easy to receive tee times, great rates allows me to play several times a week.!!
11/20/16
The course was in really good shape for how rainy it was prior to us play. The layout was perfect due to the weather and how we had to play.
I love the price.
Best value in Portland metro
I play here about six times a year and never regret it. Best value for your money. Good track with some tricky holes and a few risk/reward ones as well. Staff here is the best almost anywhere I've been.
Local Gem
A good local gem. Usually walk on any afternoon. I like it as I can walk on during the week and play nine before dinner. It is diffently a course you have to think about
Mid week hot deal. Excellent value
$10 hot deal with a $10 golf now award, can't beat the price. The greens are always in great shape and provide lots of opportunity to make good reads on challenging breaks.
Doglegs galore
You really cannot just open it up with the driver on most holes because of narrow fairways and doglegs, you have to scope out the yardage on GPS before you choose which club to hit and where you need to land the ball. This is really great to learn golf skills but there's more risk of getting hit by stray balls from other players not doing their homework and the tight layout of the course.
Hi Empty99,

challenging
You can use every club in your bag.
Hi Robferrari26,
Thank you for playing at Oregon City! It's great to hear that you enjoyed the challenge of the course. We hope to see you again soon!
Old style course in perfect condition
What a surprise to find this course. It was in great shape, and had all the amenities albeit on a smaller scale. Loved the layout, and especially appreciated the flora and fauna. Really enjoyed the small town atmosphere.
Thank you for your wonderful review! It's great to hear that you enjoyed the conditions and amenities that we have to offer at Oregon City. We hope to have you back again soon!
Not the course's fault
Very nice, older course. I thought, for a public course, it was in very good shape. Fairways were fine and the greens rolled well and held the ball well. The only problem was getting there. I'm from NE Portland and the half hour drive took an hour plus both ways. As I said, that's not the course's fault but I can get to some very nice courses in WA in less than an hour. I would like to play it again but doubt that I will.
Another Great Round
Third time playing Oregon City Golf Club, and once again, it was awesome. I love this course. Very easy to walk and has some great holes. Love the doglegs. Got a great hot deal through Golf Now...18 holes for $15. Can't beat that. Wish I lived closer so i could play it more often (About 30 miles one way from the course)
Fun course to play and in good condition.
I found the course fun to play and easy to walk. Par 4s and par 5s are usually attainable to reach in regulation. The greens were in good condition but not very fast. Good municipal course.
Fun weekend course
Oregon City is my go to when I don't make tee times early. You can generally get on when you want and the pace of play is typically good. Greens were in good shape and the bunkers have very good sand. The course is in good shape overall, just lacks some of the extra landscaping that some courses have. I have played many rounds at OC and I am sure that I will play many more.
Great place to tune up your game
This course is in great condition and due to the tree lined fairways, it makes you think your way around the course. It is fairly short, so if you need to tune up your iron game, leave your driver in the car.
I'll continue to play this course through the summer between rounds and some of the more challenging courses in the Portland area.
Slow play
Our foursome was told we were the next group (on deck) for April 1st,. We were already 10 min behind when the start with the gray hair, glasses and mustache stuck in a 3 ladies group walking playing 9 holes in front of us. They kept up for about 3 holes then got slower and slower. It took 2hr. and 40 mins to play the front nine. After the 3 some quit we played the back in 2 hrs.
I've never played anywhere where the starter just stuck some walk ons nine holers in front of golfers who had tee times in advanced. We will probably never play out here again.
Thank you for your review! We are glad that you enjoyed your experience at Oregon City. We hope to see you back soon for your next round with us!
