Oregon City Golf Club
About
Oregon City Golf Club was originally built in 1922 as a nine-hole course. In 1960, the second nine was added bringing the total yardage to 5,940. It had no sand traps but did contain plenty of trees and rolling fairways.
Today, the course has been updated with sand traps on most holes, water on three, and the same rolling fairways and trees that have grown significantly larger. The drainage is excellent which makes it an outstanding winter course. A new clubhouse was completed in 1997 which provides all the amenities a golfer could need; including a fully stocked pro-shop, snack bar, 2,400 ft. banquet facility, putting green, and a large outside deck for your pre or post round refreshments.

challenging
You can use every club in your bag.
Old style course in perfect condition
What a surprise to find this course. It was in great shape, and had all the amenities albeit on a smaller scale. Loved the layout, and especially appreciated the flora and fauna. Really enjoyed the small town atmosphere.
Thank you for your wonderful review! It's great to hear that you enjoyed the conditions and amenities that we have to offer at Oregon City. We hope to have you back again soon!
Not the course's fault
Very nice, older course. I thought, for a public course, it was in very good shape. Fairways were fine and the greens rolled well and held the ball well. The only problem was getting there. I'm from NE Portland and the half hour drive took an hour plus both ways. As I said, that's not the course's fault but I can get to some very nice courses in WA in less than an hour. I would like to play it again but doubt that I will.
Another Great Round
Third time playing Oregon City Golf Club, and once again, it was awesome. I love this course. Very easy to walk and has some great holes. Love the doglegs. Got a great hot deal through Golf Now...18 holes for $15. Can't beat that. Wish I lived closer so i could play it more often (About 30 miles one way from the course)
Fun course to play and in good condition.
I found the course fun to play and easy to walk. Par 4s and par 5s are usually attainable to reach in regulation. The greens were in good condition but not very fast. Good municipal course.
Fun weekend course
Oregon City is my go to when I don't make tee times early. You can generally get on when you want and the pace of play is typically good. Greens were in good shape and the bunkers have very good sand. The course is in good shape overall, just lacks some of the extra landscaping that some courses have. I have played many rounds at OC and I am sure that I will play many more.
Great place to tune up your game
This course is in great condition and due to the tree lined fairways, it makes you think your way around the course. It is fairly short, so if you need to tune up your iron game, leave your driver in the car.
I'll continue to play this course through the summer between rounds and some of the more challenging courses in the Portland area.
Slow play
Our foursome was told we were the next group (on deck) for April 1st,. We were already 10 min behind when the start with the gray hair, glasses and mustache stuck in a 3 ladies group walking playing 9 holes in front of us. They kept up for about 3 holes then got slower and slower. It took 2hr. and 40 mins to play the front nine. After the 3 some quit we played the back in 2 hrs.
I've never played anywhere where the starter just stuck some walk ons nine holers in front of golfers who had tee times in advanced. We will probably never play out here again.
Decent course but not in early March
Course needs upkeep, in all areas. Tee boxes were terrible, greens were so wet that any approach shot burried in the green.
Need up keeps!
General poor condition of fairway and tee box.
Up keep is definitely needed.
Fun course to play
This course is a good challenge that is fun to play. It is in very good condition from tee to green.
Very nice course
The course is short, even for a senior who is over 65. 90% of each fairway was very good, there were bare spots along many of the edges which were a little wet after a day of rain. All in all not bad. The greens had been punched earlier but were filling in nicely and the grass was a bit shaggy but they putted well. I enjoyed the course and the company. I will play there again.
Nice day to play and no waiting
Good design courses but need more green grass in some area.
Great course
Needed a marshal, pace of play was extremely slow, people ahead had no clue what etiquette is for playing golf.
Nice course with some challenges
Some tough doglegs! Staff is excellent and very accommodating. Was a slow day and we flew! 18 in 3.25 hours!
Outstanding Value
The weather was just right, and the course was in good condition. I was surprised that the course was not busy at all. All in all a great day of golf.
Good driving
Good driving distances, quick greens. Only thing is that the fareways are close together and you will find other people's balls on your hole.
good all around course
tough to play for the first time - local knowledge needed. a coupel of the holes have a funky layout. saw alot of players on the wrong fairways.
Nice course
Week had an excellent day. Golfed 18 starting by 8:00, finished by 12:00. Perfect for a HOT DAY! Pace was good, staff was friendly, lots of water was offered on the course by the starter. They went out of their way to make sure everyone had water available on a HOT day.
Fun- like golf should be
Excellent value, excellent condition, well run facility. Relatively short course, but holes have good variety and character. Greens were in excellent condition, medium speed, which is appropriate given the significant slopes on some of the greens. Bunkers were well maintained and better than many other, higher priced courses in the area. Pro shop and restaurant staff were perfect for the facility. This is a nice place for a fun (not punishing) round of golf.
