Very solid course.
Extremely well maintained, especially given time of year. Fair mix of challenging and make able pars. Great municipal course.
Love This Course!
Easy walk, very well maintained, park-like setting. There is only one hole on the back 9 that suffers because of drainage. This is by far our favorite course to play when the weather is or has been rainy. The layout is entertaining with water, trees and variety. Greens are true - not overly fast, but an accurate shot will GO IN.
Great course, excellently maintained.
I played this course in 3 hours! Granted it was not the best weather, but what a great place to play! Its maintained wonderfully, and the layout really makes you stop and think about how to play each shot.
The course is perfect.
Very good condition of fairway n green , keep it , will play again.
Nice course through housing development
Well taken care of, park-like setting. Interesting enough with some water, lots of trees and meandering course on the front 9. The back is a little more straight-forward and have to cross a couple of roads through housing development. Greens not overly fast making putting fairly good. Easy to lose balls on most holes if you're not right in the fairway because the rough is really rough directly adjacent to the fairway.
Reminds me of Florida courses flat with out the water.
Course played fast, not much trouble, sand traps didn't come into play except on a couple of holes. A few carry over shots but not very difficult. Greens where in great shape and rolled very true to line.
Great Day
Great course, great value. We had a great day, with the weather and course conditions. I would highly recommend this course to all skill levels
It's OGA
My league plays this course once a year. This August was about the best conditions I've seen! Nice walk in the park.
Very interesting layout.
Unfortunately, for early August, this course was green all over with lots of wet areas. The ball picked up mud on a lot of shots which should never happen in August. Way over watered. What happened to the national effort to let courses brown up a bit and get firm and fast?
Fun track
Greens were great ran true kinda slow in the morning because of watering but dried up by the back 9. Course was in great shape. Will play again. Staff was very nice
Great Course
Loved playing this course. The greens were consistent and fast. The fairways were great. There weren't many unfilled divots to affect the ball. The traps were still a little wet and didn't look like they had been raked all day, but it was still easy to get of. The fairways had some wet spots but not that bad.
Overall, I would play this course for the same price I paid in a heart beat. It was the first time I broke 90 on this course so I was very excited and look forward to playing at this course again.
Beautiful course layout with well maintained fairways and greens!
Each hole forces you to hit pristine shots to navigate the narrow fairways. The greens are well maintained so the ball travels true
to speed. With the correct drive and approach shot on the par 5's
birdies are very common. The par 3's offer excellent birdie and par opportunities. It was also very nice to see that most of the divots and plugs on the greens had been filled and fixed which shows that the players really enjoy this course. I would definitely
recommend this course to all those that like to walk as it's not that hilly.
one of favorite courses
we enjoying (wife and me) this course. Rather easy to walk and there is a good balance of difficult holes (Par 5's) and parable Par 3/4. Have to be able to read slope on greens to sink longer putts.
oh so close
Lots of good to say about my visit. Everything was great except two key things. One was pace of play. There was a sixsome in front of us that were very slow. It appeared they were a school getting lessons. Held us up on every hole. Second was empty water stations. None had any water after 3pm. I'd still recommend but hope they address these issues.
Great course!!
great course...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
best value
Best course for the money in Portland area. Appropriately challenging from every choice of tees. Pleasant atmosphere.Good drink cart service.
Challenging and very enjoyable.
I was able to play this course with my 11 year old son yesterday and we had a blast. The staff were very friendly and the course was in fantastic condition.
Great value!
Slow grind, interesting course
Short course made for scoring, awful pace of place with walkers and high handicappers alike. Leave the driver at home, hit several long irons off tee for position as fairway runs out, even from back tees on par 5's. This course is somewhere between a muni and a private. Still, reasonable value and a good betting layout.
OGA, Wow!
Teed off @ 636A on a great internet deal of $30 to walk. Played the blues (71.0/134/6307) with Longtee400 in 4h, 15m. Facilities are top notch, they have a very nice snack shop and a well stocked pro shop. The course exceeds expectations in every area. I like the layout with five par 5's and five par 3's. There are a couple of par 5's that are layup holes and even though they are slightly less than 500 yards, few players could reach them in 2 shots because of native marsh areas you have to play short of. While there may not be a single hole that makes you do a WOW double take after seeing/playing it... there isn't anything close to a bad golf hole on this course in my opinion. The traps had nice sand & they were VERY well maintained. Plenty of rakes and every trap looked to have been freshly raked. The primary rough is uniformly cut in the 2 to 3"range, generally you will have a good lie. The issue for shots more than a little offline is that on many holes there isn't that much distance from the primary rough to the native grass &/or protected habitat areas, were a ball is gone, not even worth looking. Knee to waist deep marshland in many cases. While OGA is not a super tight course, there is a decent amount of OB lurking to nail you with any wild shots, plus a generous amount of tall trees. The fairways were lush with very few divot marks. The ball rolled well if you play low trajectory shots and the lies were almost always good. The tees were the weakest area of the course, but still excellent. A couple lean downhill and some of the par 3's had many recently repaired divots. I saved the greens for last. They were pristine, fast & firm. The pro shop said they were rolling at about a 10.5 to 11... they seemed faster. If you had a downhill or side hill putt, we had several putts lip out that were seemingly nicely paced to die at or just past the hole... that left 4' to even 7' putts coming back. They were almost scary quick if you were on the wrong side of many pins. There were several greens that had alot more break than we could see in reading them in the early a.m. shadows and sun glare... playing 9" of break on a 15 footer when 3' was more accurate happened a couple of different times with our group. Overall, any course would be hard pressed to out do the conditions we experienced today.
Great golf
Excellent course, prices jumped considerably from last year, but the overall the course is in great shape.
