Looking good
I notice the improvements made or being made. Course looks much better than the last few years. Look forward to coming back.
Beginner? This is the course for you.
This course is great for beginners! For 8.99 a round on the hot deals, cant beat it. Conditions aren't the best. The fairways are pretty patchy and not super well maintained. Greens were OK, no major issues i saw. Pace of play wasnt the quickest (great for beginners) got stuck behind some golfers who obviously never practice or have seen someone swing a golf club before. This course helped me hone my iron shots. The staff was very friendly, lady at the front desk even let me play another 9 for free.
Can’t beat the price and it was a nice day to play
I came with relatively low expectations and was pleasantly surprised. The course is short and slightly busy without any real organization, but we played 9 in just about 2 hours and the conditions were acceptable.
Low quality 9 hole course
While the price point for the course was quite cheap, the course itself was also equally as cheap. Greens were brown, tee boxes were in destroyed conditions. Will not play again.
Good Value
*Greens were in pretty good shape.
*fairways/rough weren’t bad
*I prefer a slower pace of play, so I didn’t mind the group of dad & 4 kids in front of us.
* holes 3 & 4 were pretty swampy
I’ve played this course several times before, I would recommend OVGC to anyone looking for a walking 9 and a good value for $20 +$3 for cart rental.
Overshot My Expectations
I never got off here before was trying to find someplace different place it up a little bit was pleasantly surprised of course was in good condition it was enjoyable afternoon
Best bang for your buck as a new golfer
Beginner golfer and was looking for experience that was newbie-friendly and cost effective. This facility hit both those things on the head. A short enough course to not feel too overwhelmed and local enough to not feel the rush of more popular locations. Tee boxes seemed to be in decent order and the greens were okay. For the cost of the round I would recommend this to anyone who wants to make the step from pitch & putt courses to a full 18 holes.
Never even got out
Booked a 3:40 "tee time" but this course doesn't operate on tee times. Everyone just lines up at the first hole, first come first serve. Line was 25+ people deep, didn't even bother getting on line. I know for next time, 3:40 on a beautiful Saturday probably isn't a good time for a quick 9...
Pace of play
The pace of play was horrendous! Took me an hour and a half to play 3 holes. Have to come up with a better system
Starter course
Perfect for new players or players who haven't played much lately. Get all your clubs practice also course is in great shape. Only need to get tee boxes up n running.
Nice 9 hole executive course
Nice and challenging 9 hole executive course owned by the County. Walking only. Very reasonable price Greens are in good condition as are the fairways. Sadly, many players don’t repair their ball marks. Lots of water hazards and ability to lose balls if you don’t hit straight/ in the fairway. The first hole, just past the white tee, usually has water in a low lying area and needs a crossover bridge or higher ground due to ponding water.
