Pace of play
The pace of play was horrendous! Took me an hour and a half to play 3 holes. Have to come up with a better system
Nice 9 hole executive course
Nice and challenging 9 hole executive course owned by the County. Walking only. Very reasonable price Greens are in good condition as are the fairways. Sadly, many players don’t repair their ball marks. Lots of water hazards and ability to lose balls if you don’t hit straight/ in the fairway. The first hole, just past the white tee, usually has water in a low lying area and needs a crossover bridge or higher ground due to ponding water.
Inexpensive & fun
I've driven by the Ox Val course many times and didn't even know it was there. The clubhouse is a tiny little building that looks like a maintenance shed. That being said, once I paid the nominal fee for 9 holes and a walking cart I walked right onto the 1st tee and played (most of) 9 holes without ever having to wait to tee off. I only saw 1 other golfer on the course my entire round.
My only trouble, and the reason I said I played most of the course, came when I inadvertently skipped 2 holes because the path to the next tee is not always marked very clearly. Not the worst thing. I only paid $11 and got in my golf fix for the day. I will definitely return to this executive course in the near future (and next time hopefully get to play the whole course).
Greens in good condition but course and fairways were wet
Greens in better shape then years ago and much faster.
Great for beginners
You can play there with no pressure. Great for beginner learning the game. I’d recommend this course to anyone.
Bang for the buck
Great beginner course. Sand traps have been vastly improved since new management has taken over. Wide open fairways with unforgiving rough. You can use driver on 3 holes, and use a variety of woods/irons off the tee on others. Great course to work different wedges too.
Great course for beginning golfers
This is a great course for new golfers. The course offers a layout that exposes new golfers to all aspects of golf and requires that they use all the clubs in their bag. The pace of play is good and there is no real pressure for beginners if they hit some bad shots. Friendly staff and easy to get tee times.
Nice Par 3 Course
Was looking to play a quick 9 with my 11 year old and stayed away from country clubs on this beautiful Sunday knowing they'd be jam packed. Oxford Valley Golf Club didn't disappoint! It's a nice par 3 that has some difficult holes. A couple of the greens needed work, but we weren't expecting Augusta like quality from a public course. Great course to practice your short game on. We will definitely be back!
ABSOLUTE DISGRACE! AVOID AT ALL COST!
The lady at the Pro Shop was a COMPLETE DISGRACE! She was TOTALLY clueless! She would NOT honor my Golfnow reservation price! She actually said "I do NOT know how to enter that price on my register!" She actually argued with me, saying I need to call people! NO, YOU need to call people!
If I could give hits place a NEGATIVE rating I would! Mainly because of her attitude & behavior. There was absolutely no crowd control. Long waits on EVERY hole! Very muddy, and poorly maintained course.
Golfnow needs to DELETE this course off the site. Why have it if they won't honor the price?
TOTAL DISGRACE!
Challenging executive course
This executive chorus is only slightly longer than 2000 yards long, but many of the part threes are in the longer range and they’re very tight, with little to no room around the green, so unless you are short or on the green you’re going to get in trouble immediately. Conditions fare to not so good, but the price is certainly right and you will get short game practice. The greens are slow
