Middletown Country Club

The round started off great with a friendly conversation with the starter and a few nice holes of decent pace. Then things turned quickly after about five holes. On several occasions, the ranger aggressively raced up next to us and just STARED at as we were taking a shot. We had groups right in front of us so we couldn't play any faster. We also had people hitting into us constantly because there are a few drivable par 4's. Finished the round in 3:20 and felt incredibly rushed. Heavy swarms of gnats on every tee box. Several greens were atrocious. It felt like playing winter conditions despite it being August. Hard to believe they charge $80 on a weekend. I would love for this course to be better. It has potential. But no one seems interested in making that happen.

I live nearby, so I go here but not nearly as often as I used to because their greens fees have gotten high for tue quality of the course. I like the layout. The conditions are so so. They’ve made some minor improvements, but it’s hard as a rock and burnt out.

Round clocked in at just about 5 hours — had two groups stacked up on the tee box for the last four holes, and not a ranger in sight.

Course was completely burnt out — everything is hard as a rock; if you’re in the rough, 50/50 you’ll be in a hole; half the greens looks like someone drove a cart straight through them the night before; sand was filled with rocks.

Plus, as most tee boxes are directly next to previous greens (including on a couple drivable par 4s), you’re going to spend most of the day ducking for cover — just pray the guys behind you know to yell “Fore”.

Certainly not coming back here — it’s a decent price for the area and what the layout could be, but in its current state (and the lack of care shown about pace of play), it wasn’t even worth the $60 spent for a Saturday round.

Got to the course. No range which is ok but def a negative. Got checked in and ready to go and they double booked our tee time. The starter was very friendly and fit us in but not a great start. The course needs some love. Tee boxes were horribly overgrown and as long as the rough. The greens were very inconsistent. Some were aerated. Some weren’t. Some were slow. Some were fast. Had a good time but will probably be my last nod rather spend more to get a better course.

Didn’t use to not be a big fan of this course but over the past 5 years they have been making the course much better. On the shorter end but tough course to find a flat lie on. In course is in solid shape!!

Course was ok green sprinklers turned on as we were putting and some of the greens have just been irritated so not in great shape not worth a 80$ weekday round

Played here a handful of times over the past few years. Expectations were low but was pleasantly surprised. They’ve put some effort into maintaining the place and it shows. Fairways and greens were in good shape, albeit with some damage on a couple of the greens. Tee boxes were good, with some having been recently sodded. Overall a good value for the price

Several greens were in rough shape. Tee boxes were not mowed. Overall not a course I would visit again. Staff was nice.
