Middletown Country Club
About
Middletown Country Club has been one of Bucks County's major golfing destinations for more than a century. Originally designed as a nine-hole golf course in 1913 by Scottish architect Alexander Findlay, the second nine was added three years later. In the many years since opening, the golf course has undergone renovations by both George Fazio and Stephen Kay. This tough course is proof that a layout doesn't have to be 7,500-plus yards to be a challenge. Although the Middletown C.C. golf course plays to a seemingly modest yardage of 6,217 from the back tees, the rolling terrain provided by its location in the scenic Neshaminy Valley makes the course seem much longer. The small greens have plenty of undulations and you'll also be faced with a variety of uphill, downhill, and sidehill lies. There are also towering trees looming above the fairways and water comes into play throughout the golf course as well.

Decent, but not worth what they’re charging
I live nearby, so I go here but not nearly as often as I used to because their greens fees have gotten high for tue quality of the course. I like the layout. The conditions are so so. They’ve made some minor improvements, but it’s hard as a rock and burnt out.
Slow play, keep your head on a swivel
Round clocked in at just about 5 hours — had two groups stacked up on the tee box for the last four holes, and not a ranger in sight.
Course was completely burnt out — everything is hard as a rock; if you’re in the rough, 50/50 you’ll be in a hole; half the greens looks like someone drove a cart straight through them the night before; sand was filled with rocks.
Plus, as most tee boxes are directly next to previous greens (including on a couple drivable par 4s), you’re going to spend most of the day ducking for cover — just pray the guys behind you know to yell “Fore”.
Certainly not coming back here — it’s a decent price for the area and what the layout could be, but in its current state (and the lack of care shown about pace of play), it wasn’t even worth the $60 spent for a Saturday round.
It’s golf but I’d go somewhere else!
Got to the course. No range which is ok but def a negative. Got checked in and ready to go and they double booked our tee time. The starter was very friendly and fit us in but not a great start. The course needs some love. Tee boxes were horribly overgrown and as long as the rough. The greens were very inconsistent. Some were aerated. Some weren’t. Some were slow. Some were fast. Had a good time but will probably be my last nod rather spend more to get a better course.
Didn’t use to not be a big fan of this course but over the past 5 years they have been making the course much better. On the shorter end but tough course to find a flat lie on. In course is in solid shape!!
Ok course slow pace of play
Course was ok green sprinklers turned on as we were putting and some of the greens have just been irritated so not in great shape not worth a 80$ weekday round
Better Than Expected
Played here a handful of times over the past few years. Expectations were low but was pleasantly surprised. They’ve put some effort into maintaining the place and it shows. Fairways and greens were in good shape, albeit with some damage on a couple of the greens. Tee boxes were good, with some having been recently sodded. Overall a good value for the price
Not in good shape.
Several greens were in rough shape. Tee boxes were not mowed. Overall not a course I would visit again. Staff was nice.
Disappointing
Give them credit for continuing to improve the course. But the tee boxes that have been leveled and sodded need to be mown tighter. The grass was as high as a teed ball. Also disappointed that the damaged greens were not repaired over the off season. Several greens had significant damage. Was not worth $85 dollars for a early weekend tee time.
Challenging Course
This course is in good condition, tough to read greens. Go and play with someone who know the course.
What happened?
For $80 this course should bave been at least 3 stars. The grounds are way too hard. The greens are a disaster. And the pace of play is awful. Most are out there to drink and play like theyve never touched a golf club. Sorry. It was an awful experience. We picked up early. For $30 maybe it's fine, but $80????? Nfw.
