Middletown Country Club

About
Middletown Country Club has been one of Bucks County's major golfing destinations for more than a century. Originally designed as a nine-hole golf course in 1913 by Scottish architect Alexander Findlay, the second nine was added three years later. In the many years since opening, the golf course has undergone renovations by both George Fazio and Stephen Kay. This tough course is proof that a layout doesn't have to be 7,500-plus yards to be a challenge. Although the Middletown C.C. golf course plays to a seemingly modest yardage of 6,217 from the back tees, the rolling terrain provided by its location in the scenic Neshaminy Valley makes the course seem much longer. The small greens have plenty of undulations and you'll also be faced with a variety of uphill, downhill, and sidehill lies. There are also towering trees looming above the fairways and water comes into play throughout the golf course as well.

Terrible
The tee boxes are bare, the fairways are bare in spots and the bunkers are terrible. The greens are unreadable and very spotted in some places, pitted too.
Work in progress
Great course design. Excellent staff, very friendly and knowledgeable. Course is worn and seems overplayed, but for early season you can see the work they are putting in. I expect to play here alot and would recommend.
After the frost delay.
There was about 1/2 hour frost delay and was expected this time of year. Started out chilly but warmed some after about 7 holes.. Greens seem to have been top dressed with sand - could not get a putt to roll straight without bouncing. It was a quick round in under 3 1/2 hours.
rained out after 9 holes
Rain came in around 11am and got heavy by 11;15. Had to drive in to clubhouse to get out of rain.

Fun Day
Issues due to freezing early made for a long delay in tee off. As it was early March the course was in some tough shape. I see what could be a very tight and fun course to play.

Don't bother
For the price ur playing 2 closed holes, the greens are trash, fairways area garbage n tee boxes are even worse. Only way I'd play is for 30 bucks, otherwise way overpriced for what ur playing
Course wasn't in the best shape
I paid $26 bucks to walk 18 (in the winter). So the value is not bad. But the course was just not in the best shape. Two temporary greens. Tee boxes were practically in shambles. Some fairways/greens were fine, others in poor shape.
Staff was very friendly in pro shop.

Course closed
Paid the $9 to set my tee time and when me and my brother arrived for the round the course was closed. But they still were open to book tee times online. Dont care about the $9 but was looking forward to get out for the first time this year as was my brother.

We apologize for the issue that the online times were showing. There was a computer issue that arose that evening that somehow opened up tee times. All issues have been fixed. We were taking things day to day as far as opening, and the snow and ice certainly did not melt as fast as we had hoped.
Made tee times available while closed
The course made all tee times available on a Sunday, so I booked one for myself. Moments before heading out I received an email saying they were in fact closed due to the amount of snow on their course. So I paid the convenience fee for nothing.
Ironically I was able to get a tee time at a course only a few miles from Middletown, and there was no snow to be seen.
Don’t waste your time on those course, the maintainers are too lazy to get up on a Sunday, and in the summer you’ll find the 18th fairway decimated by ground bees

On the particular day that you were booked, there was an issue with the online booking engine that opened up tee times when we were closed. I personally sent that email when I saw the issue to make sure that you did not head to the course. As far as your comment regarding the maintenance crew, you could NOT be more off base. We had considerably more snow in this area than most of the surrounding area. The Langhorne area often gets more snow than other areas and I have 13 years here to know that. We were not able to open until the following Friday, even after days of 60-70 temperatures. So for you to say that our maintenance crew was too lazy, ask yourself if you would want to be closed if you were running the course! I think we both know the answer. Also, regarding the American cicadas killers, unfortunately they show up every July. It is illegal to attempt to kill them as Pa. pesticide rules prevent spraying for them. The booking fee that you paid should have been refunded to you as I alerted GolfNow to the situation with their booking engine and the need to credit guests that may have booked on days that we were hoping to open and the snow took longer to melt. If you were not credited, please let me know and I will take care of right away.
