Great revamp for a classic course
Great course with better views. Challenging with a lot of undulating fairways. No such thing as a simple lie. Staff is super friendly and the course and clubhouse has had a complete revamp.
Great track, good greens
Fun, tough course to play. Staff was very friendly. Beautiful views all around the course.
Beautifully maintained course
Really beautiful course. The layout is great, good mix of holes, and some holes had magnificent views. The greens were the best part of the course, rolled true and beautifully maintained. Would definitely recommend.
Great course to play when you can get a deal
This course is fantastic if you can play it at the time of a deal. We got the round for $35 which is an incredible deal. I have paid $50 to play and that was fair also. Best time to play is definitely teeing off after 3 PM. The rates are great then. The pace of play was good with the exception of the league that slowed us down. Otherwise, we played fast. The course was in incredible shape with the exception of some rocky bunkers. Otherwise, the course was exceptional.
Course in great shape
Tee boxes and greens in great conditions! Some of the best I’ve played this year. Looking forward to getting back up here to play another round! Certainly would recommend to anyone looking to play a fun yet challenging.
Course in Peak Summer Shape
Course was overall in fantastic shape. Tee boxes and greens were some of the best I’ve played on year! Would certainly recommend and looking forward to coming back up here later on in the summer.
Beautiful Mountain Course
The views from some of the tees are the best you will find anywhere.
The greens rolled true and were very well kept. The fairways and rough were also well kept.
We played early on a weekday, when it was a little bit cold and almost rainy, that I think we had the entire course to ourselves.
I am definitely coming back when I visit my brother's again. Well worth the trip.
Sand, I repeat, sand traps
Hadn't played here in a couple years, course was in decent shape except for the SAND traps, which should have said SAND in them. Rocks, dirt and mud are in ample supply. If you're not going to take care of them, fill them in and grow some grass!
Scorched thru the first nine in less than an hour and a half, get to 10 and there's a dozen carts waiting there. Guy in pro shop says there's a league starting early. THANKS He "let" us play the front nine again. Won't be back anytime soon.
9 holes
A little pricey for 9 holes but the course was in good condition considering how wet the previous 3 days were. Staff was very friendly, course layout was nice. Bunkers could benefit from some TLC. Some of the cart paths are banged up, they could also use some attention. Overall I gave the course 3.8 stars out of 5
Course was in fair shape
Played here a few times before, greens were a lot slower than before. Traps were in poor shape. If I paid full retail I would have been upset
TLC is paying off!
Last time I played the course was not in good shape. It is coming along nicely and have seen improvement . Will definitely be back.
This course is starting to come back.
The last time I golfed here the course was in poor condition but it is in much better shape and I hope to be back again soon.
Excellent course
Course was great, narrow fairways on most holes and the greens were very fast, great scenery around the course and overall I recommend playing it! The only downside was the sand traps were not taken care of so most of them are very solid other than that it was nice!
Nothing good to say
From the layout to the parking and finally the young arrogant staff and management, the place is really terrible. New management is unconcerned with your experience. Not gonna waste another minute. Just go somewhere else.
Don't waste your money!
Played in spring and the front nine is a mess. No real tees to speak of and the grass is very sparse. Back nine beautiful but that doesn't make up for the front. So peeved by the time you make the back nine you want to leave.
Nice course layout however very high grass on most tee boxes. Bunkers need more sand or at least raked.
Sand texture was very hard. Overall should be a $30-$35 greens fee
Country club is in the name only
As my title indicates I dislike places using the country club moniker when they're a former club and haven't maintained a resemblance of the type of care deserving of the name. Having gotten that off my chest, my review follows.
The layout was pretty good overall. Fairways were wider than the pictures suggested, so it played fair. Hole variety was good. I'd have liked a hole diagram as the tee boxes to help with many of the hidden doglegs and such, being my first time playing.
Condition wise, fairways were good, greens were average. Some ran faster than others, but met with your standard public course speed. The tee boxes needed some love. And the traps were the worst I've seen in years. Only one I saw was rakes and resembled sand, and some had rocks, and I don't mean pea sized pebbles. Golf ball sized rocks. Really irritates me that you ignore something so obvious.
The clubhouse was at one time a happening place. But much of the building seems closed off and parts of their vast outdoor patio, specifically the stairs, were rotting away. But they had a full staff serving quite a few folks but we only grabs some beers after nine, so no comments on the food.
In the end, we still enjoyed ourselves. The course really was entertaining, just poorly maintained and overpriced. I suspect their customer base is low when outside the holiday weekend so maybe there's few options. I've been on worse, but it's an average public course.
Enjoyable
Very typical of a "hills" course.. Many ups and downs. Cart not required but very helpful. Fairways were moderately tight Bunkers fit the course but the sand if large grained. Tees were well maintained but small so the some were chopped up.
The greens are large with many undulations. They are fair but with very large breaks.
Sixteenth hole has a spectatular view.
The round was slow (+ 4.5) due to a group in front that insisted on waiting until the green was c,ear becore they hit <150 yard drives.
Likely will play again on a return visit.
