Solid but not earth shattering
The course was in ok shape. Bunkers werent raked and edged around. Some greens had dirt patches. It was priced accordingly at $38/weekend. Not sure I’d pay anymore than that.
Groundskeeper.
The greens a South Hills are rough and not in good shape. I would’ve been OK with that but why I gave this course a one star is because of the groundskeeper! We were going to tee off on number 10 and they had the sprinklers on watering everything around the Teebox. The groundskeeper proceeded to curse at us and call us P..E.B. because he had to come and turn them off so people could tee off. The other employees heard him do this and shook their head and said we’re sorry he must be having a bad day. He needs to remember the money that I pay to play pays his salary and if I had my way I would fired him on the spot! If I could’ve found the owner or whoever was in charge he would’ve been having a really bad day. I don’t pay good money to play golf to get cussed out by some groundskeeper!!!! And I hope the owners of South Hills read these comments and deal with that.
Nice course
Very nice course. The weather was perfect. A little confusing with all the construction and for the first time being there. I will definitely go back again.
sub four hour round on a sunday afternoon for $31...so that was good. conditions fair at best, worse than any place i have played this year. tees were a disaster and greens and fairways very spotty.
Course is in the upgrade stages
Played south hills before, if you want a challenge, these courses will give it, 3 courses. Overall was pleasant experience. West course greens not in good shape. Still SouthHills is a very good place to play golf.
Good experience
Played today at south hills, The club house is being rebuilt, Putting green is new. The course and greens were in decent conditions. Overall it was a very pleasant experience today.
Under construction
This review is solely based on my most recent experience at south hills. They are in the process of major construction, rebuilding the entire restaurant and pro shop. When completed (Rumor is July 21 eta) I have no doubt south hills will be one of the most fun and best valued places to play. Currently, it’s kind of a cluster with all the construction going on, so you should be aware of that before playing.
