Terrible
This was my 1st time playing this course. As i drive in, i was surprised of how bad the greens looked on hole 1. The staff was super nice, and helpful. The turn was great, and hot dogs rocked. However the course was the worst I've played in 70+ rounds. its really sad bc i only live around 10 minutes way.
Super Dry
Course is not kept up. The greens were extremely cracked. We were joking around that it was like playing on the moon. Doesn’t look like it’s been watered this year. The greens were bare in some parts and cracked and warped in others. Cracks so big it would stop or redirect your put 90 degrees and were everywhere. Actually making it impossible to put. Also the rough around the green was none existent if you had the perfect shot on to the green or just before the green you can almost bet the ball will launch well past the area. The ground was so hard we were snapping tees left and right trying to get them in the ground. I’ve never played on a course like this.
No one behind us or in front of us most of the time.
Felt insane for $53.
The Sahara
Course conditions were horrendous. I didn’t think the conditions could be worse than last year, but I was wrong. All greens were cracked and brown, tee boxes were like concrete.
Okay
Decent bang for your buck. Tee boxes aren’t great. Most of the greens are dried up and have big holes in them. Course is not taken care of. Volume business. Staff is friendly. Wouldn’t play again. Decent course for beginners.
Horrendous conditions
They had an outbreak of some kind which dried up the greens and fairways. Tee box was hard dirt. Half the greens were cracked and hard dirt (un playable). It would be nice if it was advertised before people pay and drive there to play. They did give a refund which was nice.
Nice staff. Horrible conditions
The staff was very friendly and I do feel bad I have to give the course a horrible review but the greens were fungus infested, moss looking and were the length of a shag carpet. The only thing missing were the cows. I only had time for 9 holes and thank God, because I would have left anyway even had I paid for 18.
A fair price for those conditions would have been $25 for 18 holes with cart or $12.50 for 9 holes.
Embarrassing How Poorly Maintained This Course Is
While I understand a green or tee box here and there get hammered with the wild swings in weather we've experienced in SE PA this year, this course (which has the potential of being a really nice play) has been neglected to the point that it is shameful. Most of the greens, save one or two, were barely playable due to the lack of grass; those that had grass needed to be trimmed. Virtually every tee box was bare, too, and the whole course is in great need of irrigation. While the cost to play on a weekend was reasonable, and the staff very friendly, it was clear that ownership and the superintendent don't seem to give a hoot about course conditions. I imagine it will take two years to repair the damage done from neglect, so I won't be going back there anytime soon. GolfNow should really reconsider including this course among those it advertises.
Total dump
Don't waste your time. Greens, fairways and tee boxes all dead. Place is a dump.. worse course I've been on in 35yrs...
Yikes
Obviously this course wasn’t always in the greatest shape in my years of playing here but this time it was worse then a bombed out Afghanistan . Tee boxes mud dirt crab grass you name it . The greens were all burnt out .. very little “green” but spots and sometimes dirt mud combo with the San Andres fault line coming through just stay away
Only play here if you don’t like golf
You’re probably better off playing in your own yard.
Terrible course conditions
It was virtually impossible to putt the greens as they were mainly made up of dirt and had huge cracks all over the green. Most of the tee boxes were dirt and could barley stick your tee in the ground. This course should be charging no more than 25$ a round with cart.
Purpose
I (re) learned how to play golf here. Everything has its place. Hopefully the greens will improve soon, everything else is perfect. Thanks NV!
Do not recommend
It was like playing off of concrete. Played every shot 10-30 yards short because it’ll bounce and roll onto the “green”. Majority of the greens were completely dried out to the point it’s brown/grey with cracks in it. Where there was green it was super spongy and your ball dies. Fairways were dried out dirt/ crabgrass. Also were stuck behind a SIXsome for a 3 hour back 9. Ranger did nothing about it and told us to skip holes if we want to pass them. Is cheap to play but would rather you play oxford valley public course.
