Abington Club Review
Great value for a 9 hole course, very short holes only drivable holes are 8 & 9 so heavy iron play. Course condition was rough but after a week of heavy rain. big complaint was they tried to charge a cart fee per player instead of a flat fee to rent a car for your round.
Good course, great value, friendliest staff around!
It was our first time at Abington Country Club and we had a great time. The course was in good condition and provided some fun but challenging holes. The value for playing 9 holes here is the best in the area without a doubt. The staff is the best part about this place. Everyone is incredibly friendly, especially Anthony! One of the nicest golf course employees I have ever met! We will be back!
Nothing has changed!
As long as you don't pay full price, you get what you pay for. The conditions here are sub-par, but at least it is a golf course!
Get your swings in
Like to think by spring this course is better. Greens were ok but the course needs grass seed. Holes are challenging with uphill and downhill holes.
BB’s review.
Greens were in very good condition. Due to draught most of the course was very dry with hard tee boxes.
Grounds keeper seems to do pretty good job with leaves.
3rd hole still closed for season due to reconstruction.
Nice course for beginners…
Greens were great, course was nice to play with a a frieyehobid beginner to golf.
First time at Abington
Walked the course today. Overall it was fun and challenging. The 3rd hole was basically shut down but there were no actual signs indicating as such. I only realized it after hitting my tee shot up the blind hill into a closed section and not seeing any green lol.
Terrible course only 8 holes!?
The course conditions were absolutely terrible. Being a walking course they didn’t have enough push carts or gas carts for everyone. It was hard being there was no visible fairways. There is more dirt than grass. As we were playing we found out there is no third hole. So it’s an 8 hole course. Which would’ve been nice to know. Horrendous place. It’s not even worth the 10 bucks
Could be better
I know it’s affordable, but the 3rd hole is closed and many of the bunkers were filled with water. Overall, pretty hit or miss.
Best 25$ greens in the city
I played it once about 2 years ago and at the time it needed work in all areas. Today I booked to squeeze 9 in after the rain and I was blown away by the upgraded conditions of the course. The greens are some of what you would see on any 60-90$ course in the area. Very firm and true even after alot of water overnight. The fairways are a bit patchy from the heat but there are plenty of sections that show the potential the course has and what I hope they are moving towards. I was totally pleased with that 25$ round and would recommend it for a quickie. Hats off to the Superintendent!!
Hot Weather = Patchy Fairways!
While the greenskeeper is dong the best he can with the greens, the lack of a sprinkler system makes the fairways very patchy in the hot weather we have had. The rainy days are a blessing for the grass!
