We’re Not Going Back!
Had been awhile since playing at the Melrose. Did not remember the small greens and plunging hills. Quite a challenging course. Some parts of the layout were confusing. Another player informed us at the second hole that the course was closing for good very soon. A housing development was planned.
Playing it out, we found the greens to be rather beat up, but played surprisingly fast. Got slight enjoyment from the nostalgia of playing there again, but glad to say goodbye. It was very tough on the knees for guys in their 70’s.
Sad to see another golf course being closed for houses
Sad to see it go
I love this city course. But development has come a calling. Course closes
At the end of the month. Sad lose. All the city courses are disappearing and turns into money in the pocket of developers in urban planners. But a loss to the community. Will definitely have to get back out here a few more times before they close for the memories and I played real well too so feel great. The course has always suited my game.
Horrible course
This course is in terrible shape and to charge $65 to play it is outrageous. I’m trying to dispute the charge at the moment. It was in horrible condition, most of the fairways are dirt and weeds, the greens are torn apart and tee boxes are completely missing. Avoid this course at all costs.
Greens were in bad shape, tee boxes we 🗑️ and half of one hole was under construction. Besides that played with my sons and friend and made the best of it
Course is not being kept up
Could be a nice play with some manicure… lotta trees and shrubs need to be removed.
Golf shop charged me more and said GolfNow was wrong. I want my money back.
Instead of paying 37 to play WITH CART like my reservation says, the golf shop argued with me and said I needed to pay for a cart or I was going to be asked to leave. Awesome course but after how badly that was handled I want my money back.
Tough to see it
Great course layout but not in great condition. Greens need work
Avoid
Worst golf course I’ve ever played at. They should shut it down. Taking $65 from people is robbery.
Course needs a little upkeep
I think the course is somewhat challenging the tee boxes need some work ,the greens need some work, but it’s a good course for beginners and the average player
