Course Layout, Meh
Disapppinted. There were very few interesting or unique holes on the course save for 2 or 3 of them. Definitely not a "thinking man's" course.
Overall conditions were good except for the sandtraps. Rocks and mud; not sand.
I would much rather play their other course, Bella Vista.
Lastly, the golf carts were dirty and trash left in them. At first I thought I went to the wrong spot to obtain a cart, but the guy in the pro shop reassured me that they were the ones to choose from.
I probably won't go back.
Had a great day...
Overall, this is a good course for the money. The fairways and greens were in very good condition and the rough was not so high that you couldn't find you ball if you missed the fairway. Made the whole round very enjoyable. The course is hilly with some greens that have pretty severe slopes. There are a couple par 5's with very sharp dog legs that make getting to the green in 2 almost impossible. The course keeps your attention. My only complaint was most of the bunkers were unplayable and the pace of play was a little slow, about 5 hours. But the weather was perfect and it was a Sunday so I expect a crowded golf course under those conditions. If you haven't tried it give it a try, I don't think you will be disappointed.
Great coarse
Great place to play. Great conditions. Great price. Usually no problem playing another round.
Great conditions after overnight t-storms
Many cancelled after overnight thunderstorms, but it was their loss. It was 90-degrees, but it didn’t even need to be that except for on a hole or two. The rough is always thick (not high), and it helps to have some local knowledge as there are a few blind shots.
Small, tricky and fun
First time playing this course, with no usable course diagram (the one on the card is too small and no detail), made for quite a few blind shots and surprises. But mostly in a good way. The condition of the fairways and greens was excellent. They told us the halfway house was open, but it wasn’t, except for the bathroom. Fairly priced and overall a good experience.
Great Overall Court
I was happy to return to this course after about two weeks. The staff is very friendly and the starter is very efficient. It is a great course layout with a little bit of water and a fair amount of bunkers. Greens are very well-kept by becoming fast as the weather gets warmer. Fairways are in good shape and are well groomed. The tea boxes are in mostly good condition. It’s a fairly challenging course for high handicappers that allows you to use every club in your bag. The pace of play was fine. There’s a very nice bar restaurant on site and a very friendly halfway house for drinks and/or refreshments. I would highly recommend this course .
Dog track
First off when I tried to call in the am to check conditions and if the course was cart path only no one answered the phone and the recording said they are there sun rises to sunset.
The bath room was a pig sty. Do I need to explain further. The carts were dirty. The cart paths were full of ruts. There is Goose crap everywhere. The greens were not cut. They need to be rolled also. Most traps have no sand. The halfway house was not manned and the machines would not accept the several bills we tried.
Such a shame this used to be one of the nicest courses in the area. Owner must be spending all his money on his other courses. Maybe it’s time to let this one go.
With their rates and daylight savings time golf cart time in should be later
Tee time was 4pm and the checkin person told me carts need to be in by 6:30pm. At the tee box the ranger tells us it is extra busy and slow because of the beautiful day and carts must be in my 6:30pm. At 6:15pm another ranger rides around to tell us again carts must be in by 6:30pm. My cart was returned by 6:30pm if I played a different course that day we would have had 1 more hour of daylight. Not really a fan of this course but wanted to check out the conditions because we signed up for a golf league (only because of the day of the week and location). I didn’t notice any improvements on the course with all the money they are raking in with their higher rates and tight tee times and the whole world trying to play the sport. The course is definitely an advantage for woman because it’s shorter but I would prefer it to be a little challenging. Also if the ranger can nag you when to turn in your cart they can keep the slower groups moving. I guess their rates are higher because they have rangers so do your job so the pace is kept and people that love the game can still enjoy it.
I like this course...
Played on a warm, rainy day in early March. The course conditions were about what you would expect for that time of year. The staff was extremely friendly. Played in less than 4 hours, course was empty due to weather conditions. The only real negative were the bunkers. Most of them are unplayable. Hopefully, they will fix that once the weather gets better. There are some interesting holes that make you think. If you have never played it's worth a try.
