Course is fine my game ain't
Tee boxes were if in very decent condition considering the lack of rain recently. Ditto for the greens which were a bit on the slow side. The fairways were very good (green normal fairway grass) for the most part. A lot of the rough was burned out. Tried to stay on the fairway without much success.
First timer
I have heard about this course for a few years from family, as I only live about an hour away. The course layout was good and I’m sure the more that you play it the more you will figure out the best way to play each hole, as far as shot placement goes. The GPS on the cart is good, even though they’re extremely touchy as far as where they let you drive. The greens were in good shape and putted true.
Long round
I've played this course numerous times. The course is always in good shape, but the pace of play is very slow...I could have taken naps on some of the tee boxes waiting to tee off. Nice course, but expect at least a five hour round.
Great staff and very well maintained course!
I’ve played Fort Cherry a few times and every outing has been everything I could have hoped for. The staff is very pleasant to deal with and always accommodating, even if an issue arises such as a mix-up in a reservation between their system and Golf Now’s. The course itself is extremely beautiful with lots of wildlife and they have a nice practice range before your round with grass and mats. Many challenging but fun to play Par 3’s and most of the Par 5’s aren’t too daunting. Fort Cherry is one of my favorite courses in western PA and worth a trip if you haven’t made it out yet!
Won’t be back anytime soon
Club house staff and starter were both unpleasant. At the end of the round, the starter, in a rather rude manner, told me that he needed me to remove my bags from the cart. None of the customary courtesy you receive at most courses.
The course was like concrete in some places but that was largely due to lack of rain and burnt grass just off some of the fairways.
The resident dog at the tee box and green on a few of the holes was another unwelcome feature of the course. While the dog was low key and friendly, he was persistent in his attempts to interact. I wasn’t a fan and won’t be going back anytime soon.
Hello and thank you for reviewing the course. Let us first start by apologizing for your experience during your round. This is by no means the standard we strive to achieve. We are going to escalate your feedback to our team so we can make improvements before your next game and will continue to work towards an excellent experience by using your comment for guidance. Thank you for playing Fort Cherry Golf Club. We hope to see you again soon.
Good play for $20
This course apparently used to be a strip mine, so the ground tends to be rather firm. Greens are decently maintained, fast due to lack of rain and not easy. Tees and fairways were decent. Lots of water, sand, and hazards can come into play. Enjoyable course iif you can get a Hot Deal for $20-$25. Would not pay $36 to play here on a weekday.

For the money they should provide a frigging pencil!! Corona excuse is lame at best. It will take a while before I go back.
Great condition
The course is in great condition for this early in the year. Greens are still a bit rough after aeration, but fairways in excellent shape and everyone was friendly and happy to be playing.
Good golf course
Great value. Course is well maintained and in good condition. Variety of challenging holes front and back.
Like this course a lot
The reason for average rating on Course Conditions is only because the greens have still not recovered from aeration 2 weeks ago. Usually this course is in nice shape.
