Grand View Golf Club
About
Grand View Golf Club in North Braddock is one of the area's most challenging layouts. The course's 160 acres were carefully carved from a woodland hilltop. From its perch, the golf course overlooks the Mon Valley with views stretching to the Edgar Thompson facility, Western Pennsylvania's first and last major steel mill. The distinctive layout will test your creative shot-making skills. It may seem relatively short at 6,111 yards from the back tees but it feels much longer thanks to the rolling fairways and undulating greens. The tight fairways are lined with cliffs, brush, and trees, leaving little room for error. You should also be prepared for forced carries and tricky doglegs. Grand View Golf Club can be punishing for the low handicapper, but high handicappers will find this course to be a unique test of their skills.

hole 14 - par 3( 90 foot elevation drop) Photo submitted by vdlemonade on 04/22/2013
Great course
Great course, well maintained. Fairways are a bit narrow, however for the majority of holes if you play it on one side or the other their is a hill sloping towards the fairway or a hill to roll your ball to another holes fairway. Carts have a gps tracking system that lets you know ball distances and also where other carts are to let you know if you can hit your next shot.
Great course
Very challenging course and tight holes.
Do not use driver on every hole.
Great condition and excellent greens.
Fun but difficult course.
Grandview is a fun but difficult course. There are a lot of blind shots. My only possible complaint would be the gps system on the golf carts. They do not allow you to see where other carts are located.
Beautiful and challenging
I play Grand View often but it's always in the best condition of all our local courses.
Great conditions, all the time...
The staff is very friendly and the course is always in GREAT condition.
blind t shots
Although the condition of the course was good, almost all t shots are blind, and you have to allow for rolloff because your on a hillside one way or another all day. If you like to track your ball in flight or know roughly where it will end up, you probably will not be happy after playing this monster on the mon.
Just remember to bring lots of balls!
I love Grand View! A very challenging but visually stunning course. Me and my girlfriend have played twice there this summer and loved every minute of it. Lost a lot of balls but it's totally worth it for the amount of fun.
The course was very well maintained, the views spectacular.
We had a very good experience playing this course for the first time. Fortunately we were paired with a very helpful course veteran who led us around the course, providing helpful tips on where to hit shots and how to proceed from hole to hole. The course was in very good shape, the greens were exceptional. There are several holes with blind shots, and the layout is a bit confusing. Long distances between holes with twists and turns could be challenging for first time visitors. GPS on carts and helpful staff alleviate most of the negatives. The views from many holes helped make the experience worthwhile.
Additions
With the new additions of the computers in the carts, it makes the course manageable. Great location , good staff.
do not play at on weekends
They over book tee times to the point where you are waiting a half hour per hole, me and a friend are avg golfers and played 9 holes in under 2 hours and then kept having to wait for groups on the back nine. Try to go on a weekday, do not come on the weekend
One of the best courses in Allegheny County
A tough course for any level of golfer with magnificent views from on top the mountain. The new GPS carts are fantastic and have helped speed up play on the four or five holes with blind spots. The GPS will also show the groups in front of you and where they are. Great clubhouse facilities too.
Leave the driver in your bag
Shot makeing is a real plus. You will not enjoy your first round as much as your second. Course requires you to hit many different clubs from the tee box. Best greens and tee box's that I played this year. If you are a slicer you better bring a lot of golfballs. Front 9 is much easier than the back. Short course but your score will not shoe it unless you are a accurate golfer.
Very magnificant views a pleanty!
This course is very well maintained. It has a rolling gigantic slope rate which makes for some challenging blind shots. The course layout is very unique in the fact it over looks one of Pittsburgh's last remaining steel refineries. Such a contrast between beautiful mother nature and the man made industrial world. Hole 14 (par 3) as a 90 foot drop that's different from anything else. Staff is very friendly. I highly recommend this course to everyone. great value!

Like heaven.
Great condition, great pin placements. Friendly staff and courteous fellow golfers. The place to go for great golf, great food and great times!
A thinking golfers course.
Who would of thought 20 years ago that this course is now my most favorite golf course. I used to swing from the heels and use up all the course. With this course, club selection is most important for duffers like me. Low handicap golfers (which I am not) should score good on this course because of the great greens. The view alone is worth the trip to this great golf course.
Scenically wonderful
Nice track with great views. Somewhat short distance on par 4's. Good condition overall with nice greens.
on short side for yardage, but tight, hilly terrain make a good challange
course is short on the total yardage, but that does not make it an easy course.tight and blind driving area, fast and true greens few of which are flat.a target course for sure.hit it straight or be prepared to lose some pro-v balls.course is not for every one less skilled players can find it to be too hard for them.easy to lose a dozen balls.i myself love the challenge the course offers.play it once and decide for yourself.
Difficult Course!
This is a beautiful course to play, but difficult.
Dump
Don't waste your time it's short, on top of a mountain but there's a great view of the allegheny river and closed down mill.
its the Mon river and the mill is not closed...... they melt steel there daily.
