About
Grand View Golf Club in North Braddock is one of the area's most challenging layouts. The course's 160 acres were carefully carved from a woodland hilltop. From its perch, the golf course overlooks the Mon Valley with views stretching to the Edgar Thompson facility, Western Pennsylvania's first and last major steel mill. The distinctive layout will test your creative shot-making skills. It may seem relatively short at 6,111 yards from the back tees but it feels much longer thanks to the rolling fairways and undulating greens. The tight fairways are lined with cliffs, brush, and trees, leaving little room for error. You should also be prepared for forced carries and tricky doglegs. Grand View Golf Club can be punishing for the low handicapper, but high handicappers will find this course to be a unique test of their skills.

Requires the use of all the clubs in your bag. Shot placement essential. Great course for the money. Highly recommend this course.

Told to skip holes for members complaining
We started our back nine and the owner asked us to skip two holes because a group of 6! members (Already unfair) that we were playing slow because we had 2 beginners with us. Didn’t give us any money back. They course conditions were essentially burnt grass and the owner is a complete Joke. Save your green fees for a different course that’s fun to play
We’re sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your experience with us at Grand View. However, it is important that we maintain a semblance of pace of play, especially on a busy weekend. As your group had multiple golfers stacked up behind you, including the three-some (not six-some) directly behind you, we asked that you skip the next two holes to keep pace of play moving along so that all golfers could enjoy their rounds. As a thank you, we offered to allow your group to play the back 9 after your 18 for free. In addition, we provided your group 4 free golf passes in the pro shop. We hope your group understands our desire to ensure that all our golfers are able to enjoy their rounds in a timely manner. Have a wonderful day!

Weathered course
In all fairness, the drought killed the overall look of this course but I fee there were areas that could’ve been better. There were at least 4 greens that were burnt and almost all tee boxes and fairways were burnt. I’ve played the course in the past and I know how nice this course can look and play and was overall disappointed. Pace of play was the worst part. We teed off at 10 and made the turn around 115... no rangers on the course to push pace of play and they were letting larger groups play together... I just expect more from a course than a 5.5 hour round and burnt fairways and greens

All Dried Out
The fairways were extremely dry and hard, much of the grass was dead. There were also dried out spots on the greens.
There was no food at the clubhouse. The excuse was COVID-19. (hot dogs came in later)
This course does have nice views of the river and Kennywood Park, however the course conditions were more relevant to me.

Great layout, poor grass
The layout of this course makes it challenging in spite of being a shorter course, my one complaint is that the fairways were not well maintained...part of that is likely due to the current dry season but it still affected some shots

Challenging course, amazing value
I booked this course on a whim as I just moved to Pittsburgh from Denver. The price ($25 hot deal including cart) was a steal compared to CO prices. Based on the distance, I figured it would be an easy round, but it was far from it. Excellent elevation change and hole variation, though there were plenty of dry, hard-packed areas on the course. I'll be back here for sure.

I could have paid less by going directly through the course. This was not a hot deal because we would only have paid 25.00 a round anyway.

A True Gem
This course is so much fun to play!! It is challenging and rewarding. The variety of holes, excellent condition of greens and fairways, and pleasant atmosphere makes this course a gem. I started playing Grandview in spring 2019. First time out, shot 100. I've played it seven times since then. The last time, shot 80. A personal best! This course teaches you discipline. I will continue to play as often as possible.

Meh
I play this course every couple of years just to remind myself how truly strange it is. Fairways tighter than PGA tour stops, massive changes in elevation but great greens.
They cut the fairways back recently to aerate them but with no rain they are as hard as the parking lot and impossible to get a ball to hold on.
The greens were country club quality and an honest test.
At $18 with fees this course was sadly priced about right.

Awful conditions, strange layout
The course was hard and there was dirt on most fairways and greens. It’s a very strange layout, and with the conditions being so bad, the only redeeming factor was a nice view. Would not recommend

cart path only
This course is difficult if you are not straight of the tee consistently. The only problem I had was the not being aloud to venture far from the cart path. when the ball is in the rough and sitting down. you often have to leave the cart some distance before you find the ball. make sure you carry 3 different options of clubs. fairways were dry and tee boxes aerated. not sure why the restrictions on cart paths only. made for a long round.
