Northampton Valley Country Club
About
Northampton Valley Country Club, proudly owned by Northampton Township, the golf course first opened in 1963. It is well known among locals as one of the Greater Philadelphia area's best courses. The layout has a classic design with tree-lined fairways and gently sloped greens. Several strategically placed bunkers lurk along the greens and there are a few water hazards that come into play as well. The par-70 golf course is a manageable 6,400 yards from the back tees. It's a traditional design that is player friendly enough for all skill levels but there are risk-reward opportunities that will appeal to low handicappers. In addition to the golf course, Northampton Valley has a driving range with new range balls which is open to the public and a 10,000 sq. ft. practice green with a pristine sand trap for patrons to work on their short game.

A Unique Challenge
I’ve played this course for over 20 years. Current conditions are very good. Greens are fast and very challenging.
Great Course
Northampton Country Club is a great course for a great price. The course is long and the fairways are in pristine condition. There are plenty of bunkers around the greens to make it even more challenging.
NVCC part 2: Nice track
I first played Northampton Valley CC in May 2017. Then, as now, I think it’s a very nice track.
This time around, however, the greens weren’t quite as perfect, having been aerated not long ago. Also, although the bunkers looked good, they didn’t have enough depth of sand; I chunked into some mud just below the sand surface twice.
(Downer: A four-person scramble team in front of us was very slow, led to a 5-hour round.)
Good value for my $27 Hot Deal.
improving
The new owner, Northampton Township, is not sparing anything in upgrading this facility. Currently the greens and firm and fast after aeration. On course upgrades are being done to bunkers and new cart paths are coming. Pace of play is monitored although it is too early in the season where the golf course isn't packed to get a read on that. Grill Room was upgraded as well for drinks and food before or after a round. Looks like it will be a process but expect with continuing upgrades this will be a first class facility.
Perfect Day
Course was in good shape. Only complaint was that they treated greens the night before expecting rain, so some of fertilizer still remained making for some bumpy putts.
Needs Improvement
This course has potential, but the township really needs to upgrade the conditions. It is early in the season, so I am hoping it improves for peak season.
Wet
Course was still soaked from the winter, bunkers not raked at all, too many rocks in bunkers. Pace was slow (5hours). Other than that it wasn’t to bad, I’d consider playing during the summer time.
2nd time in a month
A little chilly, didn't warm up like it was supposed to but just about had the course to myself. 2 1/2 hours for the 18 holes.
Day After Christmas Round
The course is in excellent condition especially for this time of year and all the rain we had. The round was fun although my putting left a lot to be desired. It was a well worthwhile "selfie" Christmas present.
Late Fall round of golf.
Very enjoyable round. The course was in excellent condition. Beautiful late fall day. Could not ask for anything more.
Northampton Golf
It was a very cold day so pace of play was excellent. Course was fun as usual. Staff is very helpful.
Very little to none is how I would term the winter maintenance. Many leafs on parts of the course.
Good, even for October!!
Though I was a tad disappointed in the overall condition, it was still a good day considering the time of year. Played as a twosome with my son because the other twosome was left off early, we were still pleasantly surprised by the pace. We rarely waited and we were able to keep a nice rhythm.
PS: The BEST practice putting green around, bar none!!
Left after 9 holes
Were on pace for a 5 hour round due to the groups in front of us and not a ranger to be found
Great Round
Headed off a few minutes early flew through the front. Pace was solid. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Definitely a solid place.
Early morning at Northampton GC
Arrived early and teamed with the rest of the foursome. We noticed the tee boxes were not in great shape. Pace of play was sluggish based on the foursome in front of us. That wasn’t too bad but being hit up on not once but twice, not cool. Didn’t see a Marshal during our entire round. Couple of the guys had words with the impatient group. I think a third discussion would not have been a verbal confrontation.
I recommend the course but be prepared to have some discussions if you’re in front of a similar group.
Assistant Pro needs work with friendliness...
Had a golf now hot deal. Was warming up at the practice green with another guy who had same tee time as me. Asked if we could tee off 15 min early. No big deal...1st tee was open for a half hour. Assistant Pro comes out and reads us the riot act that we need to tee off at our specified time. I guess it was a big deal....course is always in good shape.. if the pro is so concerned with going off at specified time he should get a ranger on the course to move things along. Two groups ahead of us fighting and arguing for 4 holes. Ranger would have eliminated that.. customer service needs work. Not the only track in town.
Nice course but slowest pace in the area
The course is well maintained sans a few beaten up greens here and there, however I've never played a round here that's less than 5 hours. Yesterday finished at 5:45 hours. No rangers keeping pace, stopped at every shot on the box and in the fairway. They have a nice course but this pace is every time I come out to Northampton

I know the course well and live nearby. Under normal conditions I have never seen a round go over 5 hours unless there was something else like a small outing on the course in front of you. Just my experience from going there for a few decades.
