Best bang for you buck
The little gem in Berks County you can't pass up. Great people, great deals for adults with kids (most play free) and great views.
Beautiful yet Challenging
Amazingly, this course was built in 1928 and still possesses the charm of beautifully, well maintained undulating grounds and fairways. The greens are definely challenging and would even test the skill of an advanced player.I would definetely recommend this course!
Worth it
For what I spent and when I went it was definitely worth it. Course was in good shape considering how much rain we got recently.
Challenging
Overall a beautiful course, the back nine could be tricky. I definitely recommend this course as it is a bit challenging for all handicaps
only if there are NO other choices
The GOOD points of this round...
.played as a two some in less than 3 hrs.
plenty of parking
beers are cheap
big driving range
some nice scenery from mountain area of course
BAD points......here we go....
Greens on most holes are super tiny
Tee boxes are weed boxes and far from flat!!
Staff takes phone calls and allows golfers to stand in line
Very few directional signs (drove around looking for next tee a few times)
Blind shots that have you hitting towards tee boxes
WAY too many holes that have tee boxes right up against greens with no netting or protection from errant shots
Locals run this place and you will take back seat when you're from out of town.
Bar area is like a basement setting
Carts are antiques and run poorly
avoid driving on cart paths unless you want to be racked out of your seat, fairways aren't much better.
Not a long course from the back tees either
not a good course for beginners or those who have problems walking.
The course could be something decent with some TLC and some investments.
We only paid $18 via a coupon book and we got what we paid for, for sure
I love this course!
This is my "home" course! The Staff is awesome. So friendly and accommodating. The course while not very long it is challenging. Dog legs, wooded lined fairways and hilly terrain will make this course a good challenge for the recreational golfer. Greens can be slippery and they are undulating so they provide a great challenge (at least to me). The Course is in excellent condition. The pace of play was great when we were there. In my opinion the par threes are challenging, some are very short but they make it challenging with green or tee elevation. I would recommend this course you will not be disappointed.
Tee times, what tee times?
Used the Manor Golf Website to book a tee time. Booked a 7:36 tee time for 2 people. There were no tee times booked on their website around that time. I showed up at 7:15. There was a group of 4 teeing off. As I waited for my partner several groups showed up and were gathering around the first tee. By the time my partner showed up it was 7:22 and there were now 3 groups of 4 waiting to tee off on the first tee. There was no one regulating tee times at the first tee box and there was quickly a long wait. My partner and we decided to leave and try another course that was near by.
Fun Course
This was a fun course with a lot of blind shots. Lots of hills and turns. I would not recommend walking this course. Pace of play was a little slow but we were there on a Saturday so it was as good as it could be. Greens were fast and sloped. Fairways were nice. Rough varied hole to hole. Staff was very friendly. Clubhouse is old but sufficient.
Great round
I took client out for 18 and it was a wonderful time !
Course in great shape.
The course was in better shape than I've ever seen it. Granted it's early in the season, a time when it's easiest to keep nice, but still the best I've seen it. New granite hole info signs at tee boxes as well.
Friendly Staff
Always make you feel welcome at the course.
Terrific value and not very crowded early in the morning.
Coarse is hilly but easy. Fast pace of play
Played many times. Usually a fast round. 3 hrs. Older coarse but still fun to play. Staff is friendly. Most players are locals
testy course
lots of elevation changes.undalating greens.fun place to play.play there often.
Great golf at a better value
One of the best golf values in berks county, if not the best. Not very long from the tips, not the most challenging layout either, but, somehow this has become my favorite place to play close to home. In season, the greens are gorgeous. Very true roll. Most holes have some sort of elevation change, and create some challenging lies.
This is truly a family friendly course with multiple evening golf and food specials to encourage golfers to bring their children.
The owners and employees are without question the friendliest owners I've ever met.
Wonderful value, great conditions. Don't hesitate to play a round at Manor.
Very nice, fun course
Course was in great shape. Greens are big and challenging. Fairway markers were accurate. Fairways in good shape. Overall fun course. We played on Saturday at 4:03 and the cost was $24 w a cart. Good value. Course is pretty much open, only a few holes were tight. Up and down hills which leads to some blind approach shots. I look forward to playing here again.
