no water coolers stations on the course. only vending machine. So pack yourself alot of water. you can get free water at the snack bar.
Snail pace.
There was a tournament going on and we started after the last group. Somebody forgot to tell them to pick up they’re ball in a scramble after par. Took 5 1/2 hrs to play a round.
Pleasant Place To Golf!
Very nice quiet secluded inexpensive course ! Sure the cart paths aren’t the greatest and 1 or 2 fairways have gullywashers here and there but all in all you can’t really complain due to all the niceties !
Highly recommend trying this course since it’s an inexpensive course but can truly challenge your skills!
Too Expensive for what it is
My rating would be a lot higher if this was a $30 or $35 course. Unfortunately I think they are caught in the spiral of low play means they need to raise prices to compensate which leads to even less play. It’s a fun course with all different types of holes - very short par 4s and very long ones, lots of doglegs, lots of water, etc. but the condition is sub par.
Great layout!
This course has a great layout! A true shot makers course, holes that make you really think. Would really like to see what the course would play like if it were taken care of. It’s a shame because the course a lot of potential. It has been hard on all courses with all the rain we have had... that being said I don’t think all the rain is the trouble.
Greens need to be rolled out to alleviate all the bumps and bounces the ball does after tapping with putter
Poor condition
I played here for the first time because it was $14 on a Saturday. Course layout was fine but it was in very poor condition. The greens were very patchy, couldn't get a putt to hold a line.
Hickory Heights
It's a nice course but in terrible shape right now not work playing unless you're paying like $15 around with cart
Hickory heights
The course was in good condition considering the weather conditions, was a little wet but played well
Funday
Nice open course and not in too bad of shape considering the heavy rains that have reeked havoc on many golf courses this season. It was inexpensive thanks to “golf now”, and the course was fun to play, it has its challenges but easy to recover because of the openness of the course.
Great Value, Good Course
Hickory Heights is a solid, “blue collar” kind of course. Its condition and amenities are nothing special, but the layout is a lot of fun. The tee boxes are a bit rough, but fairways and greens were in pretty good shape, considering the flooding and fungus that affected many course in York County in 2018.
Hickory Heights twists and turns around through and over three ravines, each with a stream, which converge into Ponds in the center of the property. It is not overly long, but lots of doglegs and elevation changes, as well as trees and woods, require every club in the bag and discourage just gripping and ripping.
A snack bar with the basics and a small pro shop are the facilities, with locker rooms and bathrooms.
All in all, Hickory Heights provides a fun course at a bargain price.
