THIRD HOLE: Difficulties at three come on the drive, but here the approach shot (to a slightly elevated green) is less taxing. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/26/2020
-
FOURTH: Elegant looking hole and also the easiest on the front at a mere 103 yards. But you’re only getting a breather between three and five. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/26/2020
-
FIFTH: The front side’s toughest hole, this can turn demonic after any big mistake. Downhill all the way and 426 yards. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/26/2020
-
SIXTH: Handsome downhill par-3. Things become a bit more spacious around the green. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/26/2020
-
SEVENTH: Picturesque tee-shot with a pond on the left and a tree-lined fairway. Line-drive tee shots into those trees, however, are not encouraged. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/26/2020

The New Melody Hill
The new partnership at Melody Hill is paying off. The course is in the best shape for this time of year as it has been in several years. The course will only continue to improve as the over-seeding and landscaping campaign continues. Kudos to the new management team / grounds crew. (You need to understand where this course came from a year ago to where it is now to truly appreciate it!) The pace of play was really good until a twosome jumped on the back 9 to start their play - causing waiting on the tee for the next 7 holes - even though we were a foursome. Staff were friendly and helpful. This course has a really good layout so as the grounds improve it will truly be a great place to play.
Nice surprise
Great day. Course is on the way to being really nice. Course is so much better than the past few years.
The staff was great and friendly. So much better than bad attitudes from the past.
Played in 4 hours
We will be back.
Course
Course is really coming around. New owners are doing a great job.
Meoldy Hills - Only Play if a Sick Deal
Staff was the rudest I have ever met - Probably did not like the golfnow deal - course conditions were terrible - will not play again - avoid unless the deal is so good you cannot avoid
Like the country setting
Enjoy playing at Melody....spacious layout and a wonderful staff!
Nice course
I have seen elsewhere that this course is under new management and is making great strides, but since this was my first round here I can't address this directly. The earth-view on Google maps shows bunt-out fairways, but don't be fooled, since the course yesterday was completely green (I don't know how old the earth-view is). The tee-boxes were decent, there were just a few weeds in the fairways, and the greens were very receptive (the players should learn to fix their very deep ball marks). The greens showed some bare spots, especially on the back 9, but the course is apparently still making a comeback and these should improve. The course is short but interesting, with several doglegs requiring accurate tee shots. The staff was extremely friendly, from the starter to the folks in the pro shop and grille.
I don't know what the course looked like a year ago, but judging from the condition yesterday I can't wait to see it a year from now.
Frequent Flier
Melody Hills was in excellent shape for the time of year. They recently have been bought by new management, and the changes have been for the better. We ate at the restaurant after and it was in incredible shape. Friendly staff.
Pace of play and course was excellent for the money. Would highly recommend this course to beginners and seasoned golfers alike.
Nice Surprise
A short course that plays much longer than the yardage. Narrow fairways and lots of dog legs. Course plays much better than it looks. The greens are very tricky. Overall it was a good time. I would not pay full rate of $43 to play this course. I will definitely play it again using GolfNow.
Work in progress
You can see the work being done to the course. My only comment is that temporary tees are ok but at least cut a spot for them as opposed to trying to tee up in the rough. pace of play very good. Course somewhat wet but understandable. 5th hole is an excellent hole. long downhill par 4, Greens were in good shape in general. Too many holes with no visible yardage markers. Will definitely try another time
Great new course to try!
First time playing Melody Hill... I had not heard of the course before Ownership change this past season. Course was in better shape than I expected, a couple burnt spot on the greens (not near any pins) but outside of that conditions were mint! The layout is fun, you have to think your way through the course and the clubhouse/snack bar at the turn is great. Looking forward to playing again, and excited to see how great this course can be. Try it.
Much Better!
Greens getting better, new staff much nicer, lots of improvements being done.
I'd like to see better tee boxes in the future, too.
Melody Hill is changing for the better
Over the past twenty years I have played Melody Hill numerous time for a few reasons. The greens fees were always reasonable, the course was fun and the staff was fantastic to me anytime I showed up. True, the course was not up to par with many other RI layouts, but for the money and fun you could not go wrong. With new ownership this year you can quickly see the improvements out on the course as well as the clubhouse. One constant that remains is the staff. They are warm and friendly and can't do enough to make you happy.
