Friendly staff
I booked for 2 of us to play and someone else did the same but they let us go out as a twosome and earlier then our scheduled tee time.
The course was in great shape and we zip through.
First round of the year and shot 80
Great Round
This is a nice course and they do a good job of maintaining it. Will play several times this summer.
Great course
Golfed the course multiple times, but was very disappointed when we were paired with another 2some that was allowed to bring their kids. I may not use golf now again if this is something that can regularly occur
Perfect day on a great course.
I was all by myself and it was a perfect day. The course is in great shape considering how early in the season it is. Greens were a little sandy but thats to be expected. The staff was great. Had a 3 some in front of me and I was by myself but they never slowed me down to the other golfers were great. Again perfect weather and it was like having the course to myself. Its a very nice course with some very long and challenging holes. I had a ball.
Great friendly course
What a great place. 4 groups let us through (unlike Meadiwbrook) and the course was most enjoyable. Our advice is...Try this course...You won't be disappointed.
Nice find as a break from touring.
Golf course in good shape although pace of play was slow and our tee time was delayed due to a local tournament being played that day. Because of that, I was given a voucher for nine holes for free for a future round. As an out of towner , I was unable to use this so I gave it to one of my playing partners. The course layout is good, the holes are long but don't really play that way. Most greens were reachable. Staff was friendly and apologetic about the delay.
Never boring
Each hole is unique and makes for an interesting and fun track.
Very good lay out gor all types of players.
Played here several times , can't beat it for the price.
Nice course. Not difficult. Quick play.
Enjoyed the course. Driving range a little out of the way in the back. Not an overly difficult course, but great for most players.
The course is very nice.
The course is laid out around Rapid Creek, with many crossings.
course is in excellent condition
Course was very busy so play was somewhat slow, but still finished in 4 hours
Nice course in the Black Hills
If you get to the course and you see the old lodge and the parking lot you don't believe there is a good golf course. Ambiente isn't appealing, but the course layout, especially at the new back 9, is great. Fairways and greens are well maintained.
It is worth the drive. I'd always come back kf I am in the area.
Very fun course!
The Elks is a fun and challenging course for all skill levels. It is a par 72, not 71 like the site says. It has five par 3's which are very challenging. And five par 5's which are all reachable, and make the course fun. The front nine is more traditional, while the back nine is more grip it and rip it! The fairways are full and give you a chance to pick it or hit through it and take a divot. The greens are in great shape. Never too fast, but a lot of slope makes them challenging. I think the mix of par 3' and 5's is the highlight of the course and makes it a fun and enjoyable round.
Short but tough
I have played the course a couple times which helped. There are holes that require position left or right to have an approach shot.
Course was in great shape with the exception of #8, a par 5 playing as a par 3 due to flood damage from earlier in the year.
Challenging course without being too long.
Course in great shape
the course is in beautiful shape despite having water issues all season. just had to play #8 as a par 3 instead of 5, and the rest was great golf.
Nice course
We really enjoyed this course. It is a very scenic course with nice greens and excellent fairways. The only problem with golfing here is the super unfriendly staff in the pro shop. They really need to work on their customer service and attitudes!
elks - good value
The Elks course is very nice with variety of open shots, trees, bunkers, water. Hot deal pricing is spectacular. Greens are getting fast this time of year.
