Course Conditions
Tee boxes and greens were bad. Fairways ok. Used to play this course a lot and the course was always in pretty good shape. I’ve never seen this course look this bad. The rest of my foursome felt the same.
Making Huge Progress
Tri-Cities is the closest course to home for me, and I would play there a lot more often - maybe even become a member - if it was in better condition. It had been 2 months since the last time I played there this past Monday (11/11/24), and I play about twice a week. The last time I played there, the greens were completely unacceptable for play.
They were 10,000% better when I played there this time. I even made it a point to stop in the pro shop on my way out to complement them on the turnaround. They’re not all the way there yet, but they’re getting close. I really hope they keep it up!
Old Faithful
This is a course I have always relied on for a relaxing and peaceful round. It is one of the 1st courses I have memories playing. In the Tri-cities area, it’s probably the best value and with 27 holes, you rarely feel crowded or rushed. Most of the senior golfers prefer the Pines 9 followed by the Lakes 9 and avoid the Woods due to narrower fairways and longer par 3’s. The Woods definitely requires more accuracy and for most 160-200 yard clubs, which will be necessary on 2 par 3’s and a dogleg left par 4. Pines and lakes free you up to “grip it and rip it” with more forgiveness but sometimes I like the challenge of hitting my 3-4 irons. Definitely beautiful scenery and a friendly staff.
Tri-Cities Golf Course
The staff here has always been great for the few we see. The Course itself needs more staff and equipment it appears? We found greens needing attention. We found the second cuts of the fairway very deep!
We like this course very much and would play more but for the price it seems that very little funds are going back into the course? So not the Staff but the Course Manager doesn’t seem to have the resources needed to make this a great GC! Again we like this course layout. Hope things improve for all.
Greens or were they?
Easy enough course to be that slow. The greens had some very nice grass. And then again dryed out dirt like aligator skin. Very nasty.I had to move my play as I deamed it was ground under repair. Lots of weeds even just off the greens. The price was a deal on Golf Now at 11:00 on a sunday for 37.00. Good thing I recorded the football game. Slow pace. No water coolers out on the course. But they did have porta pottys. A snadwich and gatoraide at the turn was $8.25 w/10% tip kind of implied. I wish them the best. I might try it next year. Maybe.
Burnt Up
Summer heat was hard on course. Greens are burnt up and in bad shape. Sand traps have not been taken care of. Course needs attention!
Not bad for the money
Greens ar roughest part of the course, but for the money it's not bad. If the greens were in better shape it'd be solid. Pace is relaxed, sometimes a little too relaxed. Wish the concessions were open and had hot dogs
Bad course management
This course did not look like the pictures the greens were filled with dead crack grass which made it unplayable very dissapointing the tee boxes were not even able to have a tee stuck in them as well.
Scorched Greens
I’ve played this course about 20 times. Always a fun round but the greens have gone to complete shambles. I’ll be surprised if they have many more seasons.
The greens and course maintenance
The greens of this course are total garbage. Half of them are dirt and have cracks all in them. If you hit the green in regulation you might as well chalk up a 3-4 putt. It is awful. Their soda machines don’t work outside and they shut down the inside at 4 so if you are thirsty good luck. They don’t have coolers on the course either. So no water at all. You Have to bring your own. Literally not worth the money. Most of the time it’s over $35 for 18 holes which is a total joke. Never going back. Ever. Ever. Ever. Ever.
Course was worth the hot deal.
Greens where terrible. Has rain before we played. However, they where burned up. If you can get a deal play worth it. But full price definitely not.
Don’t waste ur money!
It use to be a good course, but due to poor management they are understaffed, choose to get new carts vs. putting money into the course. Fairways are decent they are losing most all of there greens to fungus hadn’t been mowed for days. Dead trees and broke limbs hanging everywhere. Not worth the money really even it’s cheap.
