Twelve Stones Golf Club (formerly known as Twelve Stones Crossing) sprawls across rolling hills, making the golf course known for its dramatic elevation changes. An even lie will be hard to find and golfers will also have a few blind shots in store for them. The undulating terrain makes for some difficult holes but it serves another, more player-friendly purpose of providing scenic respite with idyllic views of the surrounding countryside. The greens are lightning fast, but they roll true and there is rough bordering the well-manicured fairways. There are also several bunkers strategically placed throughout. It is a golf course that is challenging but still fun to play, a statement that holds true for a wide range of skill levels. Given the versatile design and affordable rates, Twelve Stones Golf Club is a popular venue for tournaments and outings.

Decent if get it on a Hot Deal
Played this course many times. Always ball marks on greens which is the players responsibility of course. Anywhere but the fairway has so thick thatch, your ball will just bury and you'll never find it. Last time I played, they had a tournament and it was chaos. Bunkers are horrible. I only play this course when it's a Hot Deal, but NEVER will play it at full price. I'll go to Country Hills for that.

Super slow!!
Nice course layout but the slowest round we have ever played! Over 5 hours which was extra odd since the Marshall told us it was a four hour round course. There were some holes that have 3-4 groups on them

Please don’t play this course
This course is in about as bad as possible shape an open golf course could be in. Not joking, the muni courses around Nashville are much nicer than this course. Some greens are unplayable, there is no sand in the “bunkers”, just caked up mud and puddles, the tee boxes are uneven... back 9 wasn’t even open so they made us play the front 9 twice. It was a joke. I’ve never written a review on here before but I feel compelled to do so because I don’t want anyone else on here going out there and wasting your money when there are several courses in the area for the same price that are in MUCH better shape. It’s a shame too, because the layout could be good if somebody were to put a lot of money into maintenance and actually take care of the place.

Won’t play here
While layout and staff were good this course is not consistent. With fairways so long you can’t hit a fairway metal from most of them to not even finding your ball in the fairway to unplayable sand traps and rock hard tee boxes. Won’t be playing this course again. Wasted my money!

First time at the course
Found this course on GolfNow Hotdeals. Tee time was 10:30am and we had no issues getting a cart and starting off. May need a little more signage to find the first tee box though. Fairways had been cut, but not entirely cleared of the clippings which were heavy in some areas but it was being cleaned up once started the back 9. Most of the greens needed a little work; however, there were a few of them in decent shape. We were the only ones on the course during our play as far as we could tell so we got to pick our pace of play. Golf staff was friendly and assisted with finding a ball that was in some brush. Make sure you hit those fairways because the rough will swallow your ball and some of the bunkers felt like I was on a baseball infield. All in all it was a decent course and will return at some point I’m sure. Just needs a little TLC.

Great potential
Staff was very friendly. I did not see anyone on the course but myself and my partner so the pace of play was as fast or slow as we wanted. The greens were pretty bad so if you are a serious golfer then I would wait. They seem to be working a lot of the course so that’s a good sign. The rough is a true rough and I even lost my ball a couple times bc when they mow the cut grass it just lays there instead of collecting it. The course layout was awesome, great scenery and a lot of hills. Our cart was clean but backfired a couple times and scared the crap out me. But overall, the course is heading in a good direction with this staff. I would go again if I was in the area. Definitely work the $23 I paid.

Fake Reviews
The course is obviously posting fake reviews. Read most of the reviews stating how bad the greens are and then magically there’s a post talking about how they’re not bad. They are very very bad. They don’t grab your clubs from the parking lot. That’s a lie. Most greens have entire swaths of death on them, and they are not “out there working hard on them” - that is also a lie. There’s no sand on them, there’s no seed on them, they’re not roped off... they are not doing anything. They’re simply charging full price and packing the course as right as possible. Don’t fall for fake reviews.

I know that you, Mr. u000003789956 are use to playing Augusta, it obvious by your review. But this course is in my hometown and I Like it as most people do!

Great Layout and Staff
I was pleasantly surprised at a public facility when cart attendants grabbed my clubs and loaded them up into a golf cart. The staff was overwhelmingly nice and felt like i was at a very nice private club. The golf course has a great and challenging layout. I can tell they were doing a lot of work out there with the maintenance staff very visible throughout the golf course. The greens were in decent shape, i understand as a golfer with bent grass greens in Tennessee that they are hard to keep alive this time of year but ive seen much worse in this area. some dry spots on greens like 1, 15, and a few others but when i was out there i was told about them and noticed the greenskeeper working hard on them. Great golf course and cant wait to give it another go next time im here.

Completely unacceptable
This course is in unplayable condition. The greens are completely trashed. I can’t believe they’re even open, I’d be too embarrassed to let golfers out. They should seriously consider shutting down for the year.
GolfNow won’t let me upload my photos, I took many. Every green is a war zone. Pot marks, dead patches, crab grass. Forget about this course. Go ANYWHERE else.

Horrible condition

Course in horrible condition
The course layout is beautiful but the course itself is a wreck. Some of the worst golf course Maintence I have ever seen. THEY NEED TO SHUT THIS COURSE DOWN TO DO REPAIRS EVERYWHERE. If I could give 0 stars I would. Definitely will never come back and play. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY.

Dress Code
At the pro shop I was told that I could not wear my cap backwards.... not sure what to make of that considering that folks were wearing untucked shirts, sandals, gym shorts etc...

lost the course
obvious they lost their greens. bent greens in the extreme heat is a tough duty. the greens are awful. tore up with very little grass on them. i wont beat them up too bad on that because again, its so hot for 2 weeks and this isnt a high end course so $$$ to maintain is limited.
but equally as bad were the fairways. rock hard with massive bald patches and then other areas that were completely unmowed and played like rough. it was sad. and id say 10 of the teeboxes were flat putrid as well.
But the layout of the course is awesome. its a really fun tract. all the holes are great and rewarding. its potential is off the charts. just needs lots of love and $$$.
