Twelve Stones Golf Club
About
Twelve Stones Golf Club (formerly known as Twelve Stones Crossing) sprawls across rolling hills, making the golf course known for its dramatic elevation changes. An even lie will be hard to find and golfers will also have a few blind shots in store for them. The undulating terrain makes for some difficult holes but it serves another, more player-friendly purpose of providing scenic respite with idyllic views of the surrounding countryside. The greens are lightning fast, but they roll true and there is rough bordering the well-manicured fairways. There are also several bunkers strategically placed throughout. It is a golf course that is challenging but still fun to play, a statement that holds true for a wide range of skill levels. Given the versatile design and affordable rates, Twelve Stones Golf Club is a popular venue for tournaments and outings.

Fall at 12 Stone
This was a phenomenal value on a course that has been resurrected from near-death. Greens are excellent, fairways and tee boxes are above average and improving. Challenging layout, requires accuracy off the tee. Multiple large elevation changes reward careful club selection on approach shots. Will play again ASAP.
Much better
played twelve stones for 1st time in over a yr and course was so much better is was night and day from the past. Under new ownership and they have really brought the course back from the dead. Would highly recommend going if you haven't been in a while. Really good condition.
One of the best around
I absolutely love this course!!! Except for Gaylord and Hermitage, this has to be the most challenging courses around. It was in bad shape, but the new owner has put a lot of work into. The course is looking great!!! The staff is very good and the price of $30 a round plus cart is great in my opinion. I travel from Bellevue just to play this course, it is that good!!! My significant other loves to come with me every now and then because she loves to take pictures of all the wild life. I had to wait for a big 15 point buck to get out of the fairway one fall.
Much improved course
Current mgmt. has improved this course dramatically.Quit playing here 2 years ago due to poor conditions.Greens are now in good shape.Fairways cut high but filling in nicely. These people are on the right track.I will play here again.
Poor attitude / below average golf course
We attempted to use this golf course because we had heard the new owners have rehabbed the course over the winter/spring. We experienced poor playing conditions and rude conduct by staff and owner. We asked the clubhouse if we could use our own golf cart since it was fully loaded and was similar to their golf carts. The lady at the clubhouse did not object. Their golf carts have NO GPS, no towels, no water, etc. Very bare bones. No reason to go to a lot of effort. Also, told at the clubhouse, the weather was going to just be sprinkles and it was safe to start. On the 1st hole, we teed off and a rainstorm started for over 30 minutes, We stopped under a tree but a greens keeper tried to come by and we had to move into the rain so he could pass on the cart path. RUDE. We thought just rude teenage worker so we continued on. Got to the 2nd Hole, teed off and as we were going to hit our second shot the owner of the golf course parked right next to our ball and informed us that we were not to use our golf cart. He demanded that we go back to the clubhouse and change carts. We said that since it was raining and it was a hassle to change out carts in the rain, we would just leave. His response was WHY? RUDE again. We then retrieved our golf balls and headed back to clubhouse. We followed the owner going in a slow speed towards the clubhouse. RUDE AGAIN. As we were getting a refund since we only played one hole in over an hour, the owner came up again and asked why we were leaving and implied that we should have used his carts. As we were responding, he turned his back and started walking away muttering, "it was just a misunderstanding" NO ONE DESERVES TO BE TREATED like this on neighborhood course. It is not close to a PGA quality course or even a good Neighbor course to have highhanded standards.
????????
The course had no putting green. That should have been a red flag but I let it go. After I teed off on the 1st hole I discovered they were on temporary greens that were 1 to 2 inches high. It was like putting in U.S, Open rough and the temporary greens were about the size of 8 x 10 rug. Should one should tell them you have to mow temp greens too. After hitting my third tee shot I discover this was not getting any better and thought "why ruin a beautiful day play this goat ranch. So I picked up my drive and drove back to the club house and demanded my money back. They would not do that and with hesitation gave me a rain check. I will try again in the spring. My suggestion to the course is to blow the greens up and start over.
All temporary greens.
We could not putt on any hole do to all greens being unplayable. The temporary greens were cut out of the fairway. The course could be great if all the greens and bunkers were fixed. The scenery was great. Until greens are fixed, I can not recommend this course.
It gets worse
Yes, it is very cheap to play here. In the past, the course conditions were always bad, but they have hit a new low. We payed for 18 and just played 9 because we couldn't bare to be out there any longer. We didn't realize that the the greens were all destroyed and that this course is now mainly temporary greens when we booked this course.
Nice course
This course is very nice but the temporary greens need a lot of work. Almost impossible to putt on. I think if they are going to have these temp greens for any length of time they need to really work on them.
The staff was wonderful and always polite and helpful. Bar/restaurant staff was great. Those ladies made my lunch fun. New girl Tiffany was wonderful.
Pour conditions
Brand new carts won't mask the fact that you didn't tell players you were on all practice greens. To bad because the course could be really nice. Played three holes, then gave up and went somewhere else.
Such potential
I played this course for the first time yesterday and thought wow....for several reasons.
It is a nice area with the surrounding houses, the layout is fantastic and the conditioning is awful.
On the front 9, there were 7 temporary greens. We decided to stop after 9 but looked a few other holes. I can't wait to come back when the place is in good shape but I haven't a clue when that will be.
Disappointing
I have played this course several times this year in the hopes of it being improved each time. I like having the courses near by residence do well and even though this course was in dire shape after re opening, I wanted to support it and see it come back strong. Yesterday's round proved this course is absolutely unplayable in current conditions. Greens are bare and essentially dirt beds, bunkers lay empty of sand and there's not much to distinguish the fairways on most holes from the first cut of rough. I've been told new greens are coming in October and will only come back after this work is complete.
It's a shame because the staff are great and the restaurant has great food.
Friday golf day for four
The four of us really like the course lay out. The fairways were fair, the greens not good at all but you can see things will get better, they are working on it. Very friendly staff and you can tell they are trying. Can't wait till it's done, played there a few years back and it is a nice course.
NO GREENS
The facility has lost their Greens, basically the fairway would of been a better place to putt or the parking lot. We would not have booked this facility to play had there been any information that they didn't playable greens. It was a complete surprise to arrive on green #1 and find it completely brown, no grass, except for some pop up crab grass. Supposedly they expect them to recover over the next month. I personally don't see it happening. If you like playing tee shots and iron shots then its worth playing. Or you could do like we did and give everyone a 2 putt on all greens if you didn't get lucky and have a 2' 1 putt that you made.
Don't play there, should have read the reviews first
Greens are dormant and fairways were terrible. It is really too bad. It has ha good lay out and could be a really nice course,
Greens? What greens?
Greens are non-existent. Should've known something was up for the price. Greens are 100% dead grass, rock hard, and covered in sand. Fairways and Tee boxes are in fine condition, and the views from the course are great, however trying to putt out the holes is a joke. Pro shop staff was friendly, and driving range was convenient. Would be a very disheartening course for a beginner, lots of elevation changes and water hazards.
Bankrupt course
The course was obviously a good course a couple of years ago ... Greens were dead, the poor course needs water, fertilizer, round up.
Course has a great layout, views spectacular of the area.
Don't waster your $$$
This course needs A LOT of work. I can't believe they didn't feel bad charging me the $25+ to play there. I should have went to get $$ back after 1st hole.
Course has a decent layout but condition is atrocious! Play elsewhere until they offer free rounds here to earn everyone's business back.
Needs some work
Got in and found out the range hadn't been picked so I get a refund for the range balls I purchased. Sat around for the 45 mins I had to hit range balls and then played on greens that were 50% dormant still. Can't decide if I'll play there again
Course condition
This course has gone through multiple owners and still shows the lack of funding put into the course. The staff are some of the nicest people you will ever work with from the pro shop, grounds keeper to the restaurant. Twelve Stones has the potential to be one of the most beautiful and challenging courses in the Nashville area but needs funding poured into it. I would suggest closing the front, bring it up to speed while using the back nine as an executive course, then reverse that until the whole course could be reopened. The course setting is absolutely stunning but the fairways and green conditions doesn't make for a pleasing game of golf. Unfortunately, right now, I couldn't recommend a game there.
