Twelve Stones Golf Club
About
Twelve Stones Golf Club (formerly known as Twelve Stones Crossing) sprawls across rolling hills, making the golf course known for its dramatic elevation changes. An even lie will be hard to find and golfers will also have a few blind shots in store for them. The undulating terrain makes for some difficult holes but it serves another, more player-friendly purpose of providing scenic respite with idyllic views of the surrounding countryside. The greens are lightning fast, but they roll true and there is rough bordering the well-manicured fairways. There are also several bunkers strategically placed throughout. It is a golf course that is challenging but still fun to play, a statement that holds true for a wide range of skill levels. Given the versatile design and affordable rates, Twelve Stones Golf Club is a popular venue for tournaments and outings.

Great views, just need a professional greens keeper. Photo submitted by HgaGolf on 10/06/2013
This Course and greens are in excellent shape, especially since they have cut the rough way down and cleaned out the creek and ditches for winter.
Best bang for Buck
they have spent a lot of money upgrading course and it is best bang for buck without a doubt in middle Tn. Greens are in the best shape they have been in for yrs and among the best in Middle Tn right now. If you haven't been lately you really need to go and see how much it has improved. Have gone from not playing there in over a yr to playing there at least once a month. Like playing different courses, but to good a value to not keep coming back
Twelve Stones
I have played this course many times over the past ten years and have seen it change ownership which affected course conditions . I can honestly say the new owners have invested a great deal of money and effort to bring this course back and provide golfers with a very nice experience. The course is challenging and the greens are some of the best in Nashville. Best value in the area and the new restaurant on site is top notch..
Phenomenal Improvement.
If you haven't played this course in the past 12 months you need to book a tee time. Vast improvements throughout the course over the past 6 months under new ownership. One of the better tracks in Middle Tennessess that has been under despair the past 5 years or so. As a homeowner and course member this course has finally rebounded and is an enjoy to play.
Great course
Besides the pace of play being absolutely horrible it was a fantastic course. Greens are very very fast and beautiful. Course will be all very beautiful once it greens up!!!!
Great course, especially for the price. But it was a beautiful day and crowded, Which is expected. But they ran out of carts, and my tee time was pushed back nearly an hour.. there's just not much of an excuse for that
What a difference!
I haven't golfed here for over 3 years. Greens were terrible back then. Course is now in great shape and the greens were great. Just don't get on the wrong side of the hole!! New owners have did a great job restoring this course.
The Best Greens?
"We have the best greens in the state," said the attendant. They are very soft, most are slopped, making it too difficult to assess the shot. If they are the best, it will change the way we putt.
Twelve Stones has greens now!!!
Haven't played 12 Stones in about 4 years due to all their problems keeping greens back then. Always loved the layout regardless of conditions but just
couldn't ignore green conditions and regretfully stopped playing there. Recently heard a good word about the course and came back to give it a try. Yowsa! One of my favorite layouts in Nashville has got greens again, Good greens ta boot! Not too fast but true rolling at manageable speeds. But watch out if you get above the cup, they still got plenty of slope to them. Still some scraggliness around the edges but this layout with good greens with the price makes this a no-brainer in my book. Thanks for saving this layout gentlemen! will certainly be back on a regular basis.
Excellent Golf
This course is in phenomenal shape. The greens are some of the best I've played in TN. I was extremely impressed! The course is under new ownership, and they have made some major improvements. The course is challenging, and the views are beautiful. The carts are all new and the staff is very accommodating. Also, the course is very affordable. The restaurant is awesome and they have a great lunch and nice bar. I had a blast playing this course and I will be playing it often. This is a 4.5 star course. The bad ratings are obviously very old. Give it a shot. You will be very happy and coming back often like me.
Excellent course, getting better
Played course for the first time today and was very impressed with the layout. It was cart path only but a very enjoyable day and played with a very good group. The holes were routed well with many elevation changes that made picking the right club difficult and since this was my first time playing I will know more next time. The course had good greens which rolled well and the fairways despite being dormant still gave you good lies. Shot 77 and really had a good time. One suggestion would be different colored flags to know if the holes were in front, middle, or back. Will definitely play again.
Great Golf at a Great Price!
A business trip in the Nashville area for the week lead me to this course for the first time. I would recommend this course to any golfer. The thing I enjoyed most.... Everything.
All Those Negative Reviews Can Be Thrown Away
Absolutely fantastic course! Have never played a course in such great shape in the middle of winter like that. A challenging drag that makes you really think about what club to use based on the extreme elevation changes and topographical setting. Beautiful area with scenic views from every tee box and green.
The staff was so unbelievably welcoming and accommodating for our large group. Their hospitality and friendliness was top tier. Anytime you can handle a large group of college buddies with the grace, class, and understanding that they did, nothing but pleasant experiences are to follow.
Will definitely be back to play this course next time I'm in the area and would highly recommend checking this course out. 12 Stones is at the top of my list right now for public golf courses.
Favorite Golf Course in US
No exaggeration, this is the most fun golf course I have ever played in my life. My college buddies and I played our annual golf outing at 12 Stones, and we could not have been more pleased. Chase and the rest of the staff were so incredibly accommodating throughout the entire process. Setting up C2P, Longest Drive, Scoreboard, and photo ops on the first tee was a head and shoulders beyond what we expected. We only had 10 guys, and they treated us like we had 50.
The layout was incredible. set up in the hills of Tennessee, every hole had an elevated tee box, or elevated green. Course is not outwardly challenging if you can put the ball in the air. Since we played in the dead of winter, the grass was dormant and bunkers were under renovation. Tough to get a read on fairway quality, but the greens are immaculate. over-seeded so they are as green as ever. Rolled pure, had undulation, but not overly difficult.
Being from Michigan, I had no intention of coming back to Nashville. But with the course being as fun as it is, I'm looking for any excuse to come back again.
Significantly Improved
This coarse has changed management and he difference is night and day. The greens are in excellent condition even in December.
Great course with a wide variety of challenges. Very fun coarse to play. The only thing on my wish list is that they would keep the tee boxes cut shorter.
New Ownership , Looking Good 12 Stones is BACK !
12 stones is back ! Chase GM is doing an awesome JOB ! Greens Excellent condition ! Brush cleared, Crew working daily to make this One of Best Course in the Nashville Area, Go Play you want be disappointed ! Parking Lot redone go see for urself !
Nice greens, fairways need work
Great layout, nice greens, fairways need work. An enjoyable track with elevations changes and challenges.
very nice course
This was a very nice course - could be tough if never played w/out a layout book. We were matched up with a single who
plays the course which was very helpful. We found the course to be in good condition and would love to come back and play it again - especially in season -
Course coming back, no putting green
After getting new management in August, you can tell these guys are working hard to get the course back to very good condition. Staff was extremely friendly & said in spring they are going to work on the rest of the course, get colored flags, fix the bunkers, get water coolers & bathrooms on the course. The greens were quick & in great shape. The rest of the course is coming along but needs some & should be nice when spring arrives. Some tee boxes & fairways could be cut lower, a ball in the rough is almost lost unless you step on it. Will definitely be back in the spring to see the turn around for the course. The course does not have a putting green anymore & range balls are expensive $5=25 $12=60
November at 12 Stone
Fairways and tee boxes are showing signs of fall, greens are near perfect. Pace of play isn't monitored and because of the challenges of the layout, casual groups took an inordinate amount of time. 4 birdies and a 76 made up for the delays.
