Interesting Course
Davey Crocket is an old school course. It is tough to judge it this time of the year. Fairways are very good, greens are fair and the tee boxes need help. The first five holes are TIGHT and then it opens up. Very enjoyable layout. Looking forward to playing it in the summer.
Interesting course
The course is short and somewhat challenging on a hilly land. Unfortunately the green are not maintained too well. Great values.though.
$14 for 18 Holes
$14 for 18 Holes in a cart. Pretty challenging course. Demands precise shots off the tee. Lots of elevation changes. Greens are glorified fairways, if they kept up their greens this place would be a 5/5 for sure.
Pleasant Surprise
My visit to play was based on a recommendation of a close friend. I must say that I enjoyed the layout of this hidden gem. Greens were extremely slow on the front 9 but. Very consistent. Back 9 required each putt to be intentional. Slow but fair and consistent.
Good course for the money
Lots of hills and lots of slopes!! Some greens are very challenging due to the incline of the green. Very shady loys of trees on both sides of the fairways. I enjoyed playing here and will definitely be back to play again!!
Small town feel
Very nice course! Lots of hills!! Very challenging! Friendly staff!! Has a small town feel!! Greeens are in good condition and are very challenging as some are slanted!!
Great staff.
Trees all over the front nine and greens in rough shape. But for the money I had a great experience. Will repeat next time I'm in Memphis.
Good $10 course
One really can't complain when you can play 18 holes with cart for $10 but I still will. The golf course needs at least some minimal attention, some might say that's exactly what the course is getting is minimal attention. I've played off and on at the course for probably about 20 years, I've seen it at it's best and it's worst. At it's best the course was beautiful and provided some of the most challenging and rewarding holes that any course could offer, beautiful fairways, excellent greens and nice sand traps. In the course's current state of being it's leaps and bounds away from it's glory days. Much work needs to done to the course but a little grass control would do wonders. The greens are about what you would expect to see for a course that only charges $10 for 18 with a cart. The sand traps may be a lost cause. On the plus side there are some great people that frequent the course and there's still fun to be had. I'll return but hope to see improvement in the future. I'm confident that conditions on the course will improve and would recommend the course to others, just don't go expecting to see anything other than a $10 golf course for now.
no water hazards
Front nine greens in bad shape. Small and very fast like concrete. Back nine greens in good shap and slow down, so it's hard to putt consistently. Fairways are nice all around. Sandtraps are laughable. If you miss the fairway, there is a good chance you'll lose your ball, as the rough is just that; about a foot tall or more. The trees get hungry too. But hit it straight, and it's a fun course, Just hit those greens short or the ball Will roll off.
No complaints considering the small price to play 18 holes of golf with a cart. People enjoy the course and try not to explain. There are many other golf courses to choose from. Glad the course is still open. Ground keepers are doing a good job keeping up. All the trees and rough forces me to play better. Until more money is poured into the course to help spice it w/ additional leadership and support; let's just simply enjoy this great priced golf. course. I sincerely thank the staff for all that they do to improve the grounds for opportunities to play a lot of great golf for as little as $12.00. Now, that's a blessings at any golf course.
