Cedar Crest Golf Club in Murfreesboro sprawls across rolling farmland accented with groves of mature trees. The fairways on the front nine are wide open but they become narrower and tree lined on the back nine. The greens play fast and true and they are also well conditioned. There are not many sand traps to contend with but a smattering of elevation changes throughout the golf course cause an occasional uneven lie. Seasoned golfers looking for a challenge won't find it here but what you will find is a relaxed atmosphere that is ideal for a quick, casual round that is player friendly enough for beginners. In addition to the course, Cedar Chest Golf Club offers extensive practice facilities including a driving range and a two-tiered practice green.

Get ready for a 5plus hours and no marshall
This course brings every level of golfer which is fine but a Marshall needs to be present. 5plus hour rounds, waiting 10plus minutes on most tee boxes and a staff that could care less. Either hire a Marshall to stop players from taking multiple mulligans a hole and taking 25 mins to finish one or space out the tee times more. This course in its current state is an absolute joke 😂
Nice track
It’s really tight on the back nine but a fun golf course. Bent grass greens are pretty beat up on some holes but it’s been 98 degrees for 20 straight days. Tough on bent grass.
Round after rain
Course was in solid condition, tees, greens great , fairways a plus as well. Only issue was drainage due to rain from night before. Played round in 4 hours even though we waited in almost every shot. Active Marshall could have helped. Trees along fairways could be trimmed . Course is already tight . Hit two drives in the short grass and still had to manipulate shot due to overhanging limbs.
Fantastic Course
The putting greens are amazing and well taken care of. A great blend of open and narrow throughout the course. The back nine gets has a few narrow spots that make for some glorious shots. The food and drinks in the clubhouse a priced perfect.

First visit for 2026
Course was in solid shape. Greens were perfect; true rolls solid 8-10 on a stump meter. Didn’t understand tee marker placement , with most only being 8ft wide on much more spacious boxes. Course is known for being tight , but many of the fairways had trees overhanging into fairways closing fairways even more. Perfect drives in fairway causing punch shots.🤦♂️
At least the Greens are ALIVE
Unlike many courses in the middle TN area, the greens are alive and rolling nicely!
Tough with the lack of rain on the overall course but once again, greens rolled nicely!
Greens were great. Everyone needs grass. But the course was troublesome as always.
