Monte Cristo Golf & Country Club
About
Until the new Los Lagos club opened recently, Monte Cristo, previously known as Palacio, was the only 18-hole course in Edinburg. The name of the game here is dealing with the wind, which seems to always blow from the Gulf and makes the course much more difficult.
Getting there : Exit Monte Cristo off 281 south, then turn left and drive 2.5 miles to the course.

Great course
Great.course to play. Not a long one, but has enough hazards to make it challenging. Greens are fast in the afternoon. Fairways are cut a bit to short, but you get a friendly roll.
Monte
Grass in fairways was decent with some dirt. Greens were ok. A bit fuzzy with a couple types of grasses. Carts need some maintenance.
A fun course
Course conditions are dry due to a drought. The greens are 8n fairly good shape still. I wish they would not cut the fairways so short. Makes it more difficult to get under the ball. The price is very friendly. They have good bathrooms and a nice pro shop.
MonteKSH26
Good day. Some greens fair. Overall good shape considering So. Tx weather.
Monte Cristo Rocks!
I’ve been coming to this golf coarse for almost 2 years now and I must say, I’m a total fan of this place. The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is great, the layout is just right and the maintenance is up to speed. I do pay a yearly membership of $100 annually, but it’s well worth it! With the monthly promotional rates that I receive on the Golf Now!Golf Pass apps, I literally paid under $14 for 18 holes with cart included on a Friday afternoon. If you golf at least 2-4 times a month, this membership will absolutely benefit you and payoff in the long run. Monte Cristo Golf Course Rocks!
Excellent course
Conditions really nice, greens were really beautiful as well, just a touch slow
Great course for CHEAP
I’m new to the game of golf and a college student, so finding cheap courses to practice my game and also have fun is something I find very important. Monte Cristo is more than wonderful for the price! I would recommend this course to people all across the valley who are looking to simply work on their game for a deal!
Great course
One of the better courses in the valley. Greens are a little fast but well kept. We really enjoy playing Monte Cristo.
Would not honor hot deal for 18 holes.
This course is not worth the 40 plus dollars they charge. With out this deals I wouldn't play here.
Nice corse
It is a nice corse all the greens look good and it is well kept.
5 somes
On Saturday you don’t let 5 somes play that’s for the weekdays. Had a five some two groups of head of me taking 10-15 mins on the tee box hitting multiple balls and also wouldn’t tee off until the group in front of them were off the greens on par 4’ and 5’s. It was ridiculous and poor place of play. They had at least 6 groups of 5somes out there today what are they thinking besides making sure I won’t ever come back.
Great Condition and value
Monte Cristo Golf and Country Club offers a high quality course that is both scenic and well maintained. Course is challenging yet fun. Fairways and greens are mowed twice a day so it’s in good to great condition. Great value for members and visitors
Great day
The entire staff was amazing and very friendly. You don't see such amazing customer service very often in this area.
Was not that busy so pace of play was amazing. Greens were in good condition. Totally recommend.
Great Course
Loved the Course
Met some of the Staff which were all friendly
Pro shop charged me 54 dollars for a few bottles of Gatorade so watch your charge before paying, but has a great feel and can’t wait to go back
Enjoyed the round and the course, will be playing again and again for sure
