About
Mentel Memorial Golf Course is one of seven municipal courses in the Columbus area. It underwent a major renovation in 2001 that gave it a new name, updated layout, and a new clubhouse. Although it is sometimes overshadowed by two of the city's more popular municipal courses, Champions and Raymond Memorial, it stands out for its meticulous maintenance. The fairways are well manicured and the rough is well defined. The gently undulating, easy-to-read greens also putt fast and true. There are three lakes that come into play on six holes and more than 40 strategically placed bunkers. Trees are present throughout the golf course, but they sometimes work in your favor by helping to block the constant winds. The sixth is one of the most notable holes at Mentel Memorial, demanding a lengthy drive over a hill.

I set a tee time for 18 holes on tee off app. When o got there’s they told me it was only 9 holes. The email I received after setting the tee time said 18 holes. They told me it wasn’t their fault and it was the app that was wrong. I wanted to play 18 holes but they didn’t allow it bc they had other outings. I would’ve never played there if I knew it was only 9. Very disappointing

Excellent course, staff and pace of play. Tee box, fairways and greens in great condition.
It’s been awhile
My first time back playing here since it was called Bolton Field!
I enjoyed the course, my memories were of small trees and pretty wide open and the years have matured this place well! I got paired up with a fun threesome and had a great time on a very hot day. I played pretty well despite not knowing where all of the trouble was, I will definitely be back and bring friends.
Fast greens
A bit overpriced for a city course but its kept in great shape. Incredibly fast greens. Play here often with GN discounts and Hot Deals.
Best round I’ve had
Course payed very nice, good conditions, just a little bit of dead areas. But really not too many. Great course to play. Staff was a little ornery.
Not bad for a tune up
Solid track greens ran a little quicker than expected. Hard pan everywhere so loosing good shots happened way more than I’d like. Nice spot tho

Great course with open layout. Staff was excellent and helpful as well.
Good Track
The course was in decent shape and had a nice layout. The staff was interesting to say the least. I'm not sure if they were volunteers, but the three starters cause chaos at the clubhouse. My tee time somehow got moved back, and three groups had to wait for a group that was 5 minutes last for their tee time. Pace of play was slow. Again, the ranger seemed to just be driving around instead moving groups along. If you can get a deal, I recommend.
Solid course
Solid course for the money. Course was good but could be better. Rough was so long it was almost impossible to find your ball in the rough, even though they just cut the grass the same day.
Good value for your money
Course was pretty wet but expected this time of the year. Surprisingly, greens were in pretty good shape and rolled fine. We were expecting slow greens but it was rolling at decent speed. Fairways had good amount of grass and tee boxes although little long still was short enough that did not effect it. It’s fairly friendly to high handicappers. Staff are always cordial and They got us out on the back 9 due to over crowding on the front 9.
Good clean course
The leaves were an issue finding your ball just off the fairway. The greens were very diveted. The staff are a bunch of old grouchy dudes. the inside staff were very nice, The facilities are very nice for an old building.
Be careful when booking teetimes with this course
When arrived we were told we could only play nine holes and the cost for 9 was only $1 cheaper than quoted 18 holes I reserved on GN. We were under time constraint so we elected to play nine. OK muni course but after we finished our nine holes the 10th tee was wide open so very disappointed in how the course handled things.
