The good the bad and COVID 19
I arrived to find no starter, no ranger and no clean carts. There were people milling about not really sure what to do. People were going out in all group sizes the only employees I saw was the woman who checked me in (very nice) and the guy watering the green as I was trying to hit on. Other than that no management of course at all.
The condition of the course is good. It had time to rest and it shows. The pace is 2-21/2 hours for 9. Know that going in and you won’t get frustrated. If you play with nice people, which I have, it’s not a problem.
I was concerned about the lack of sanitary precautions.
The reservation I paid for was not honored
This was my first time playing at this course. I booked a round for 18 holes through GolfNow, and the golf course refused to accept the reservation. I was told the reservation was actually for 9 holes due to some scheduling conflict on their end, yet my reservation receipt clearly indicated a round for 18 holes. The gentleman at the clubhouse was not helpful with the situation at all and insisted it was at the fault of GolfNow. The course condition was average. Pace of play was very slow. Each hole required a long wait time. I would not recommend this course to someone else.
great round of golf
paying on line was easy staff was very polite course was in great shape . great course to work on your short game
Local municipal course that is poorly maintained. Pace of play often pushes 2.5 hours for a 9 hole course that barely exceeds 2500yds.
Course condition was less than impressive (I played 3/11/17), even for the time of year. Roughs and fairways were very patchy and difficult to play out of, greens were bumpy with some bare spots. Overall, the course is extremely short (I only hit 1 driver) which doesn't allow for the use of many clubs. It was fairly cheap, so you get what you pay for. Also, there are foot golf holes covering the entire course in the middle of fairways, tee boxes, etc. which made the layout of the course feel very scattered and all over the place. I would recommend the course for people who don't play much and are just looking to have fun. I didn't dislike the round, but I probably won't play again.
Fun 9 hole walk
Pinecrest is a great course to work on your game. A nice walk after work when you want to play a two hour round. The greens have been in great condition, the construction of the dam on 7/8 has healed. The course is short and tight in some areas. You will only hit driver on one hole, that is why it's a good test for your other clubs. I've always enjoyed my rounds here, great staff and great patrons.
