Great course
This course is all that it claims to be. Nice from tee to green, just a great course. Only problem I had was why have a course Marshall, starter and then put foursomes in between twosomes and put singles behind them. Donut comprehend that one. Still a nice course worth the money.
Grass was great
The course was in excellent condition as far as the greens and fairways. The tee boxes were great and the lay out was awesome. Only issue I had was the cart paths were horrible. Real "but busters"! Otherwise, it was a wonderful day of golf
Great course
Have played this course a few times over the past 20+ years. Course continues to mature and get better and more challenging with time. Tee boxes, fairways and greens were perfect. Greens were quick but not lightning fast. A consistent favorite. Keep up the good work!
Upset that I wasn't informed of the work on the course when scheduled tee time.
Played this course 8/30. Greens have been punched and sanded. So slow you can't putt them. Tee boxes were worse. Almost all of the tees were covered in a topping soil about 1/2 inch deep. Totally unable to get a stance. When I callled and made a tee time, I was not told of the ongoing course maintenance. Wasted $66.00. Played this course before and enjoyed it.
Great value and a fun place to play
Prior reviews from friends had pointed me in the right direction to this gem and I was not disappointed. The course is a fun layout to play and is all you want from the tips at a little over 7000 yards. There are plenty of elevation changes and even in December, the course was in very good shape. The fairways are fairly wide and the rough was not overly long but the greens have enough roll to them to make it interesting. The course shows its teeth on the long par threes and several uphill par 4's and par 5's. There seems to be a constant prevailing wind from the west that blows up the valley that gives the course enough of a bite to make you consider moving up a set of tees. This one has made the list of top 50 under $50 for good reason-it will be in my rotation from now on and I suggest you give it a try.
Good travel option
We were looking for a course from DC to Bristol VA and this seemed to be a good option. It was. I had read that the white tee's were too long so we played the par 5's from the white and all the other holes from the gold and it was really fun. That made the yardage just under 6000 and gave us wedges for our second shots instead of fairway metals. Good shape.
