First of all, the course is a bit remote and a hike to get to.

Found it online planning a trip to Roanoke. I am so incredibly glad I stopped to play.

For $55 + cart fee, this was such a deal. Greens were aerated at the time was my only real complaint but that's golf maintance. The staff were friendly, the course, the views and the pace of play were amazing. Some rough patches of fairway here and there but what an incredible place right on the rive. Would happily go back.

We enjoyed playing this links style course a lot, the course is well maintained. We had an excellent lunch lunch at the restaurant.

Played here with my dad on a weekday last week, and I've got to say it was one of the best playing experiences I've ever had! From the clubhouse, the course location along a really beautiful stretch of the New River, the design/layout, the course conditions, pace of play, price for a round (~$40), staff friendliness...all of it really made it an experience that's hard to beat. Felt like I was playing a course that could've charged a lot more to play than what they do. Every hole is worthy of pausing for a photo, and each subsequent hole was the most fun hole of the round. It felt nice to get away from the tree-lined fairways and huge elevation changes of the Carolina courses I'm used to playing. Here it was a windy day navigating the 7,000 yards of fun (but comfortably challenging) holes of golf. I would gladly go back, and I highly recommend it!

First and foremost, the staff has to be the friendliest I ever met. The view from the clubhouse 2nd to none. The course was in excellent shape. You have to look at the grain when putting or it will leave you dumbfounded. They where firm and fast but rolled true. The rough was thick and fairways quiet narrow. Greens where small but not too small. It was wide open but miss the fairway and it was challenging to get out the rough. It’s definitely a must play. Only bag thing is it took just over 5 hours for the round. I didn’t care because the course was just that fun. Maybe they can get the pace of play a little better.

The course was what you would expect from Pete Dye. Challenging but fair. Keep the ball in play and you have a chance on this course. The rough is very thick and can be difficult to get out of. Really enjoyed playing this course!

Great layout, immaculate conditions, friendly accommodating staff, amazing views. This was my first, but won't be my last. Go Hokies!

Could not beat the $45 to play this awesome highly rated golf course. Staff was awesome And very helpful. Would golf this course all the time if I lived closer. Found this GEM while on vacation and will remember for a long time.

The course itself was in good shape, the greens especially. I guess we picked a time that coincides with course maintenance because it was like playing the weed eater open. We counted workmen on 11 of 18 holes. The guys were courteous but everywhere. Personally, I struggle hitting towards a target with someone close by. That’s just my issue and you may not suffer from it.

Course was in amazing shape! Lush fairways and fast greens. Super friendly staff!

Wonderful Pete Dye design and a fun track. Not overly difficult but a nice challenge to hit the ball where it needs to be for optimal scoring opportunities. Great staff, conditions , & pace of play. Definitely play this gem if you're in the blacksburg area.

I would definitely play this course again! The location and course layout is perfect. There was a group of four ahead of me that I had to keep waiting on and never offered for me to play through but other than that the experience was excellent!

Love the course. Spectacular scenery. Nice layout and very fair challenge. The fairways were a little brown in spots but it did not impact play. The course staff was extremely friendly and very helpful. My second time to play the course while on vacation this week. Well worth the 90 minute drive to let my son and daughter see and play the course. Hope to play it again next year on vacation.

The course was very fair, yet challenging at the same time. The greens were really fast. If you miss the green, the mounds around the greens made for some tricky chip shots. We played late in the afternoon and was able to play as a twosome in less than 3 hours.

Overall, a great experience with the beauty of the New River being a special highlight. Look forward to playing this course again.

Overall the course was in good shape. They have an issue with the geese tearing up some of the fairways and dirting the greens. Some of the greens were starting to dry out, they were out there watering them this afternoon while playing. Beautiful layed out course and staff is friendly. The river and mountains really add to playing this course.
