Golfer Reviews
Great Value
Nice course fairways and greens were in good shape. Bunkers not to good due to heavy rain.
Nothing special
I dare to say this course has no special feature. The clubhouse is old and golf cart is old. Though, course is well maintained, and having old fashioned style layout. The elder guys enjoyed the game from senior tee, the pace was not bad.
Great deal
We had a later tee-time so got only 15 holes in. The course was very well maintained. The green are cut very short and tend to be very fast. The day was beautiful with a blustery wind blowing - even with the heavy winds the round of golf was fun... yet challenging. The value for the buck is great. I will definitely return for more rounds of golf at this course. Awesome views of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Front Royal are a major plus to the scenic value as well.
Barney
Great time and the weather was good. Hot dogs were very nice:)
Good Value
This course is a good value for the average golfer. Fair, but not too tough. I always walk off knowing I left some shots out there :-)
Course was in good shape
Not the most challenging course around but it was in good shape.
This course is Not to long but the greens were quick
Played from the white tees, a little over 6000 yards. The course is very fair. It all lays out in front of you, with almost no blind shots. I found the greens to be quick but may be I am use too play Fairfax co courses. The staff was great, friendly and helpful. If you have the time for an hour drive it is worth the trip especially with the great price.
Good deal
Course was in fair shape. Only complaint was the gentlemen in the shop is very slow.
The course is a great deal for the money.
I was able to get a great deal on Golfnow.com, $15 per person. Well worth it, the course was in the best shape I have seen it in the last few years. Greens were little fast but overall nice shape. The pace was a little slow since the course was crowded but beautiful day to play.
Good for the price
This course was a bit more challenging over the south course, a little longer and not quite as forgiving. Very nice change of scenery and well kept. It serves as a good challenge for people newer to the game like myself. Only complaint is the lack of a 4th par 5 hole.
Great value
Fun tree lined, target course.played it in winter time. A tremedouus value.
greens are very slow and rough
The greens needed mowed and rolled. They were a little rough and very slow!!!
We can't place all the blame on golfers who choose not to repair their divots. We chased off a squirrel burying a nut on the 16th green. Where is Bill Murray when you need him?
I started the round as a single and ended up as a foursome. Meet some really great golfers.
Enjoyed the round even if the greens might of cost me a great score.
Get What You Pay For
I got on for $20 - it was a $20 course. Ok for beginners to learn on.
Great value for golf
The prices were very competitive and reasonable for a weekend morning. The staff was very friendly. We had a 7:30 tee time and were able to tee off early around 7:10. We were done in less than 4 hours. The course was in fairly good shape. Work needs to be done on the tee boxes but the fairways and greens were fine. I will come back and play here again.
Great little course
Nice little course, friendly staff had no problem booking through Golf Now. Greens could use a little attention but I cant solely blame the course for this because its people not repairing ball marks and dragging their feet across the greens. Would definitely recommend playing this course from the tips if you don't every hole is driver sand wedge.
Excellent value
I hadn't played the North course in nearly 10 years. I feel the course was not in as good of condition today as it used to be - especially the greens. There were a lot of areas on the greens that were rather thin on grass and there are a lot of patrons who never fix ball marks. However, it was nice to play the course again and it is a very good value for the money. I'll play it again next year.
greens are very nice.
This is a nice course. Greens are in great condition. Plenty of tough holes with difficult pin placements.
Good course to learn on
The course was in good shape and if you can get in under 30 bucks for 18 holes, it is worth it. It does need a driving on the North course side, and would like to see more sand in the fairways to make it more difficult.
Absolute Garbage
This course is one of the worst places I have ever played.
I have better grass in my backyard. The ground was so hard, we could not get a tee in the ground and hitting from the fairways is like hitting off concrete. Balls are continuously flying at you from other holes that run adjacent to each other. Most likely because this is duffers paradise.
We left after 12 holes because it was just that awful.
