Located in Allyn just 45 minutes west of Tacoma, LakeLand Village surrounds Anderson Lake with Mt. Rainier providing a backdrop to the south. The community includes three beaches and a 27-hole golf course. The course is divided into three nines known as Generation I, II, and III, which are played in different 18-hole combinations. Gen I and III combines the oldest and newest nines. The former is shorter and tighter, while the longer back nine has more undulation on the greens and strategically placed bunkers. There are several challenging holes that feature narrow fairways framed by out-of-bounds, and water hazards come into play as well. The golf course is nicely balanced with more player-friendly features, making it a good option for players of all skill levels.

Well Maintained, Difficult for Some Greens

It is a cold day but sunny at the Lakeland golf course. Some places are still showing frost at the Tee and Greens but playable. It is a bit challenging for me as a beginner since some paths are narrow while some greens are steep. Without good practice, the greens can be very hard.

Lakeland Village

The Gen 1 front 9 was in very poor condition. The Gen 3 back 9 was in much better shape. For the first time playing this course had the back 9 not redeemed, we would never play here again regardless of Hot Deal pricing.

No Golf Cart Available

The golf shop person said that GolfNow does not provide reservation information so they had over reserved their golf carts. I typically walk but wanted a cart for this round. Course was in good shape and the pace was good as well.

Tee-time event blunder

Too good to be true scenario. Somehow was able to book a Hotdeal a week out to play this course late afternoon 5pmish. When arrived at course some full day Alpine cross country event was taking place. Club ask how I was even able to book course since they claimed to have blocked out day. I drove almost 2hrs to play just to be forced to play different 9 I did not intend to play. Who’s fault would this be mine? thanks for the experience though I guess.

Lakeland Village

Played generation 1, nine holes. This is a fun, shorter, tighter nine holes in great condition. It provides lots of opportunities but also penal if you are a bit wild, especially off the tee. Have played all three nines and highly recommend this golf course.
