nice course
It rained early then was overcast. I'm sure I would have much appreciated the course's beauty had it been nicer out. Several holes were nicely designed. The greens were smooth and overall upkeep was excellent. There were even small towels to borrow, which was very fortunate on a wet day, since I had forgotten to take my towel. Nice course!
Recently aerified
Overall, I love this course. This is the closest course to my home, so I often book here when I can. I just feel like there should be concessions made when the greens are not in top condition. This won’t stop me from booking again. But, I want to know what conditions await me.
Some uniqueness
A few interesting holes, including blind tee shots and some serious elevation. Not your boring muni.
Terrific Publicly Managed Track
Great day at Auburn with great playing conditions. Greens putted true, fairways were in good shape with few dead spots, rough was not too deep and easy to get out of with a normal swing. Starter called groups to the tee at a smart pace: Rarely waited to hit and never had anyone pressing us. Back 9 layout is a little tight and the path to get from 10 green to 11 tee is a bit funky which is why the layout only got 4 out of 5 stars. Meal at Bogeys was great. Only public course in Washington that has a better menu is Mt. Si.
Good conditions, slower pace of play
Course looked great, greens were in good conditions. Pace was slow, Marshall was not interested in speeding anyone up even the 5some in front of us.
Good course
Course condition is nice in overall. Staffs are friendly. The restaurant’s food is very tasty.
Staff Made the Difference
Gordy in the pro shop and Leon the course marshal helped me have an awesome experience. The sport of golf itself is subjective when reviewing. It's the other things that stand out for me. Course and facility cleanliness, maintenance and care, food and beverage, and, above all, courteous and professional employees. Last time I was at Auburn the pro shop employee was snotty. Yesterday, everyone was super kind and helpful.
A wonderful golfing & scenic adventure
A tale of 2 nines.
Reasonably tough front 9, especially if one plays the back tees but greens can be read… larger than normal greens, it takes one’s focus to do well.
Back 9 is a whole other story, with the effect of the mountains green-reading takes to a whole new level for holes 11-14. 16th hole is a great hole and is well designed challenge
Overall great experience!
Terrifc Experience
Had first Tee time out, very early start. Great experience and the course conditions were fantastic for a rather highly played public course. No complaints about course. In fact, the greens rolled very well with few ball marks, fairways were in good shape. Overall, I give it an A-. The only negative: I flelt the greens fees were a little pricey for weekday play on a true municipal course.
