Lake Padden Golf Course
About
A busy and attractive course with very reasonable green fees. Carved out of a forest this municipal course offers great value.

Phil Gaggero
Phil Gaggero, the general manager of the course, banned us (some kids) from the course, because we violated the “no more than four players per group” rule. We had 2 separate groups, that we payed for separately of groups of 3 and 4. We had been playing behind an exceptionally slow group of adult golfers, causing our pace to slow significantly. In an effort to keep the people behind us from waiting and avoid further backup, we grouped up temporarily, playing with more than four just to stay in rhythm. But instead of addressing the pace-of-play issue with the slow adult group ahead, Gaggero targeted us, banning us from the course entirely. I strongly believe the move was made not as an effort to uphold rules, but as a blatant money grab. Adult golfers, after all, pay higher green fees, and generate more revenue overall. Phil Gagerro did not directly kick us off, but instead had the club house worker do it for him. Xander, the club house worker, was very nice and respectful and told us to call Phil’s public phone number. So we did, and we respectfully asked for an explanation and we explained our senario. Phil responded very upset and was shocked and confused that we called his number (It was a public number on the website that was kindly directed to us by Xander). Phil also confessed that he aims to discontinue the youth on course program, saying for “people like you”. Although I have never seen or spoken to Phil before our phone call, I was extremely respectful and he responded with anger. We feel as though because of Phil, the golf course and the youth on course program has become less about fostering love for the game and more about squeezing dollars from the most lucrative customers.
Fun slooww round
Great course but a 5 3/4 hour round is a bit much.
Great setting, Fun layout.
I was told this was really good. I was disappointed in the condition but the greens were puttable and that is all that really matters to me. I really enjoyed the layout and how most holes were separated from each other. The greens are gigantic so it’s not difficult to hit them. The practice facility is really good. It has everything you need to work on your game. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall, I really enjoyed my round here. It’s not overly difficult but really fun to play. If you can lag putt well, you should score well here.
Basically Bellingham Muni
Good basic course with friendly Staff and Patrons.
Bad Day... Great Value.
Got to ride 18 holes for $18.00.. Weather for the last 9 holes was horrible and the course was very damp.
My comments
This is spring, no ball washers anywhere on the course. Water on the drinking fountains were turned off. We were there one hour early, the course was virtually empty, but we were told that we had to tee off at our assigned time. as a result the group following us had to wait about every hole. No, there were no group ahead of us.
Great layout w/ ++greens
I love great greens and even with a recent aeration (3-4 weeks ago) Lake Padden has just that...and they were summer slick! Lots of elevation changes in the fairways adds a level of difficulty in club choice. No wind on our round, but with second growth forest through out the course, I doubt that it would've had a significant impact.
For all level players !
I play this couse at least two to three times a month and never get tired of the challenges !
Staff is super friendly especially Matt in the pro shop !
His service makes every trip to the course worthwhile !
Player friendly course
Course drains well after heavy down poor.. Greens were still fast.
bring your own water my guess is stay and play golf in Canada. The Staff there is very nice, but then Respect gets respect nothing wrong with padden
Rubbish. I've played there many times. There are plenty of ball washers. Sounds like the problem wasn't the course, it was you. Perhaps you should have let the group behind you play through?
