A busy and attractive course with very reasonable green fees. Carved out of a forest this municipal course offers great value.

great course, better deal
Got a steal of a deal using golfnow! Our foursome saved over $50 on golf and that included carts. I will definitely use golfnow again. Lake padden is a beautiful course. Huge evergreen trees separate each fairway. You feel all alone on the course. It is very quiet, except for one hole that is next to the main road. Put this course on your list if you plan to visit northwestern Washington.
Home course
This course is thirty five miles from my house but I enjoy it so much that I play here most often. The two nines are distinct, one more hilly than the other, but what really makes the course work is the terrific layout and the lack of any housing. Most of the holes are cut out of virgin forest and rarely do you get more than a glimpse of adjacent fairways. If they charged a little more and spent a little more this track could be truly outstanding. But the Municipal course ambience simply adds to the charm.
Bad day
I have been to padden many times and always had a great experience. However, this day was awful.... I had a 5 hour round with waits on every tee box and there was a lawnmower literally rolling greens in my backswing as I putted no further than 8 feet from me. Complete disrespect when I asked him if he'd wait until I was done putting before continuing. I feel bad for leaving a bad review but this guy just was icing on the cake to an already slow day of golf.
Beautiful course on a great park land!
This is one of my favorite courses, beautiful layout with not one house on the entire course! Great place to play, very highly recommended.
Tree lined course with generous fairway landing areas and numerous elevation changes.
A nice track that has a few water areas that are not in play for the most part. Built on sloping land near Lake Padden in the Bellingham area of NW Washington the course is a local favorite for all skill levels. Doglegs and elevation changes make for an interesting round with well maintained greens (watch out for the deceptive slope on the Par 3 #4 hole).
Good value for your money
Really nice municipal course. Well kept and playable almost all year round
Nice course - young staff at desk, couldn't care less about their jobs
I'm always amazed when I find young men working at a golf course who obviously would rather be playing golf than working - wouldn't we all? But, seriously, they've got a dream job, and can't be bothered to even smile at the CLIENTS? Very strange. The young women working at Padden have a very different attitude, thank goodness! Anyway, a great course for the money, but don't expect anyone to make you feel welcome!
Great Course - slow play
Played after a men's tournament. The pin placements were treacherous and caused a lot of difficulty the a number of groups ahead. The ladies seemed to be struggling mightily with the fast greens and difficult pin placements. As a result, the round took 5 hrs and not a Marshall in sight!
A nice layout and will play again.
Solid Course!
I have played here a couple times and have to say its one of the best in the area. The layout of the course provides a scenic, but challenging experience. It feels almost like you have the whole course to yourself. I plan to be back for many more years to come.
Fun test of golf.
You should be able to draw the ball off the tee to score better.keep the ball in the tree line and have a great time.
Very good public golf course for the price
Fairways are fairly wide and lined with trees, keeping each fairway private from other golfers.
Putting greens are big and well maintained.
Tree lined fairways with spectacular greens that will challenge the novice and pro
Enjoyed everything about the course. Pace of play is good tee boxes need some work but played after a tourney. Played with golf now booking and the guy gave me a hard time about my booking and would not honour my cart . Make sure your authorization states a cart or you might run into someone who won't read his info and give you the gears.
Good course, challenge for a 15 handicap, tough greens but roll pretty true.
Woodland course, lots of trees but fairways are wide enough, lots of difficult lies in the fairways, not what I would call flat. Fairly long for a senior playing from the granite tees. Greens are a tough read with the lake effect and lots of mounds and breaks but roll quite true. Apparently the course gets a lot of play but it also appears that the greens and fairways are maintained very well. Good practice area with very reasonably priced range balls.
Great value. Bellingham gem!
One of the top courses around, heavily played, and holds up well. Bellingham has a one of the top 3 muny's in the state. Maintenance staff does a good job keeping this course in shape. Great value for the money. That's why it's 5 stars
The path of this municiple course through the old growth is breath-taking!
The greatest challenge of this course is to avoid the distraction of its setting among old growth. The other challenge is getting on this municipal course as it's very popular and not just because of the low fee.
This is a great value course
Wide fairways, but don't miss them as you will be in the trees. Beautiful tree lined fairways and undulating greens make this course a real challenge. Definitely worth the trip to play.
Beautiful wilderness golf
Tree lined fairways and nicely conditioned course in a beautiful wilderness setting with very interesting diversity of holes with
nice amount of elevation changes, but very walkable. A must play
experience,don't miss it!
