Romantic setting
I initially brought a wonderful employée, Cynthia for a nice, relaxing lunch and a round of golf. She was a beginner, but after several visits, and my instruction, she can now participate, at this somewhat challenging course. It will still take several visits before she can truly weather the course, but she is a fast learner. We both love the place, with its secluded, romantic setting.
Great day out.
Course is so so hard. Water on every hole. Lost so many balls. Great shape though.
Water Water Everywhere
If you hit it wildly enough, you can find a pond or creek on every hole, but they are seriously in play on most of them. Add the tree lined fairways and this course will be a real challenge if you do not hit the ball straight. Some really lovely holes, a few that some local knowledge would make easier, and you may get worn down by all of the water (did I mention that there is a lot of water?). But I had fun too!
Beautiful and challenging.
This course may not be the best designed course in the county but it is certainly the best landscaped and maintained. The holes, with the exception of a few, are mostly standard golf holes with nice easy fairways and tightly guarded greens. The abundance of water hazards makes for a lot of intimidating shots and Loomis is not afraid to put bunkers in your way either. But overall the track is challenging but nothing outstanding. Where Loomis really shines is the overall experience. It all starts in absolutely the most stunning club house/hotel in the county that can be seen on a few of the holes but the 18th offers the best views over the green and water. Also every hole is landscaped and the entirety of the water hazards are beautifully lined and framed. The greens are all perfectly maintained as well. Loomis is not a casual course, but if you are a golfer looking for a challenge and an experience then it is the course to visit if you are in the area. The Biggest downside is the green fee is a bit steep(starting at $60) but I always make sure to get a round in at least once a year.
This is a great course for the money and chalenges
This course is well designed and has water trees etc for a good course. It is close to the Canadian border also.
Water everywhere
Course is very nice and well worth playing when in the area. Difficult for first timers even with the GPS. There is water on almost every hole. Very scenic course that was definitely enjoyable. Solid conditioning despite a noticeable drought. Greens were very nice. Make sure you choose the correct tees. $81 with cart is significant but about the going rate for resort play. Careful when coming here. It isn't open to public on every day of the week. Check their schedule.
Great Course!
Course is in great shape and each hole requires different shots. Well designed layout with lots of variety. Water comes into play at some point on all holes except #1. Greens run true and are well cared for.
Beautiful Course with nice green
Would highly recommend Loomis Trail. Very quite track through the woods and housing complex --- although the homes are rarely an issue on any shot.
Large fast greens that roll nicely. Friendly helpful staff.
Nice practice area although the range was still on mats-only for the time of year.
lovely course
I played with my friend, every things aae good, we love this course. I will recommed to my friends and will book next time.
Staff Not Very Friendly
The course and conditions were excellent for this time of year. However, we found the pro shop staff very unfriendly. Not the right person for the position. He is the face of the golf course and was not too friendly. Not a good first impression for anyone who is playing there the first time. I would still recommend the course to anyone who has never played Loomis before. It is a challenging course and the greens are excellent.
very good winter conditions
We played on February 8 and, despite heavy rain the previous 4 days, the course was very playable. The greens were a little slow but understandably as there was no way they could have got the mowers on them. The fairways have clearly benefited from the fall punch & sanding. The course routing is excellent and aesthetically it is beautiful! One of the best walking courses in the area.
Summer Conditions in the Winter
The course was in fantastic shape for a round in January. There were only a couple of squishy spots on the course and the greens were immaculate if a bit soft and receptive. The layout is nice with driving accuracy more important on most holes than distance.
Enjoyable course, we will be back.
Well maintained course
As usual, this time of year, fairways were wet but greens were excellent shape.
I enjoyed it.
excellent course
Everything was spectacular especially for the price.
great course overal
Beautiful and challenging course. Lots of water features. Green and fairways are well maintained. Friendly staff!
Best Course Played in North West
Played 36 holes on October 5. Course was in fantastic shape. Green were fast and true. Great challenging course. Few holes beat me up.
Thoroughly enjoyed the day. Will definitely return. Have an amazing deal available. Stay and Play at Semiamoo Resort and Spa for $79.00 a night per person includes unlimited golf with cart same day or next day.
Very friendly staff and reasonable snack/grill with good food.
One of the good ones
This course has lots of hazards but they are not placed to punish good golf. A second time around and you won't be surprised by the ample water and sand traps which are not always visible. With a good starter, the entire round went well. Golf and room packages are available here and the location is great for Canadian golfer wanting to try a new course.
This course has some character!
Found a few holes to be challenging, where as you had to do a little thinking before your drive. Front greens were in extremely good condition considering the weather has been very dry lately but the back appear to have a green fungus....like green putty spread over it in places. Most fairways were in decent shape with a few brown spots showing dirt. For a semi-private course I was expecting more...no flowers etc. dressing up this bland looking track.
I was also disappointed that they didn't have a full menu grill or restaurant. Sandwiches only, ordered thru an opening in the walls.
Great time…..
The course was in great shape, this was my first time playing here….
The only thing I would ask for is that on the holes with the blind creeks running across the fairway, could you please put yardages to them from 1 of the tees…….
Well done………
1 recommendation on the 11th hole Par 5 . There is a double fairway, POUND it down the left fairway and you will have a short approach into the par 5
Great course at a great rate
This course is well laid out with a wide variety of hole layouts. You can't just boom it off the tee - you have to think your way around the course.
