About
The Riverbend Golf Complex sits along the Green River in Kent Valley, Wash. Owned and operated by the City of Kent, the complex offers a championship, 18-hole course and a mini-golf course. The 18-hole course is one of the busiest in the state with more than 65,000 rounds played on it annually. The golf course sprawls across a relatively flat landscape, making it easily walkable. Though it may not be hilly, that doesn't mean it's trouble free. There are more than 50 bunkers strategically placed throughout and three lakes come into play as well. The layout is player friendly, with enough variety to appeal to players of all skill levels.

Lack of notice
Greens were aerated and heavily sanded
Couldn’t putt
Group ahead extremely slow as two holes opened up in front of them
Skipped a hole to get out in front of them
Ordinarily I like the course and this was a one-off occurrence

Best conditions for Labor Day
I play Riverbend frequently as it is close to were I live. The condition of the course on Labor Day was about the best I have ever seen this course. The greens were smooth, freshly mowed and a bit on the soft side. They have definitely been watering this course well over the summer. Maybe holes 17 and 18 could us a bit more water, but otherwise the everything was great. Even the sand traps were all raked and well maintained. Good job Riverbend!
On the downside we reached the turn about 10:30am, and expected to get a snack and a beverage, but alas the bar/restaurant doesn't open until 11am even on a holiday weekend. I still expected that there would be a snack cart out and about, but no such luck, so no food or drinks for our round.

Sand bunkers are and have always been in terrible condition. Sand is hard packed, almost like clay and club will not get through even when swinging hard. Please add lots more sand and so that it at least plays like a sand bunker. Some are packed so hard there is standing water in the bunkers
