About
The Riverbend Golf Complex sits along the Green River in Kent Valley, Wash. Owned and operated by the City of Kent, the complex offers a championship, 18-hole course and a mini-golf course. The 18-hole course is one of the busiest in the state with more than 65,000 rounds played on it annually. The golf course sprawls across a relatively flat landscape, making it easily walkable. Though it may not be hilly, that doesn't mean it's trouble free. There are more than 50 bunkers strategically placed throughout and three lakes come into play as well. The layout is player friendly, with enough variety to appeal to players of all skill levels.

Nice in July
I have been playing this course for many years. It is fun and not too difficult, the layout is pretty straight forward and realitively flat. We have had a lot of spring rain this year, and has really helped the grasses grow nice and thick. Overall the conditions at this time are about the best they get at this course, the fairways are thick with grass and the greens where very smooth. My main pet peeve with this course is the lack of bunker maintenance. A year or so back they add new and better quality sand, the old sand was really terrible. But they still don't rake these traps ever as far as I can tell. So you are bound to land in a high or low spot with very unpredictable results.

Nice greens.
Maybe we got lucky but these greens were nicer than some of the bigger named golf courses, even a private club.
Only complaint was that there was not any beverage service on the course. To be fair, we started early and finished around 10.30am.

Riverbend
First off as far as the pace of play I teed off at 636am so as to be expected we did not have to wait two singles in 2 carts was enjoyable and fast and the one twosome that was walking we caught up to let us play through anyways so no issues ..had I teed off later ....Conditions the tee boxes were hit and miss but even if bare they were atleast level . Fairways were OK though the turf was a bit thin ..considering what the rest of the year looks like here they were in great shape ..The biggest surprise to me since having not played here in 2 years ,were the greens ..The were nearly perfect and definitely better than I had expected . Rolled true !!! No real off course amenities to speak on ... I did make sure to have refreshments anyhow .. Staff were perfect quick ,curtious and unobtrusive.took me all of 15 seconds upon arriving in the proshop to receiving a cart key and heading out the door !!. As far as value for the money i would say golf now rate with a cart teeing off no later than I did was great .

This is my home course always well maintained, the pace of play was 3 hours for 18 no one in front and no one pushing me.

Quick round for a Saturday.
Marshall came by at least twice, telling us the men's club had a tourney and he was trying to get them to finish. 4 hours 10 minutes was not a bad pace at all.

Disappointed not what it used to be! Pace of play was slow and nothing was done.
