Golfer Reviews
Course was in great shape. Played course in under 3.5 hours walking.
I have not played this course in over 30 years, so this was a treat in the fact that the course was in great shape, leaves were being picked up, and I was able the get around quickly. The only problem I had was that I got lost in trying to get to the course, but that is my problem. When in the area, I would play this course again.
Pleasantly Surprised
PROS:
- Greens were in really nice shape for the season (especially compared to many other nearby courses)
- Fairways were in great shape
CONS:
- A cart was $28 for a single rider...OUCH! That's more than the green fee!
- Grumpy old men working the counter (where do golf courses find these guys?!?)
- Bunkers are thin, could use more sand
Pretty course, easy walk, never over-booked.
Good condition and the back 9 is VERY beautiful. The rates are extremely reasonable.
this is a great course the only thing is that they just aerated the greens
its a nice drive from Portland it only takes 1 hour the course was well watered fairways we nicely cut and maintained the only problem I Had was my driver wouldn't hit the ball long enough. It was hard to get inside the 150 yd marker i was always 10yd short. But I had a great time!
Overall a good experience
Was well maintained, nice facility outside area, friendly starter. Club house was chaios and disorganized. Counter staff horrible. Course was flat and very walkable, challenging enough to keep your attention. Greens good condition along with nice practice green. Will play again on next opportunity.
Great course
Well maintained, nice range, sufficiently challenging. Staff can be a bit smug at times.
Great mix of holes!
Front 9 has fun and challenging dog legs, back 9 will chew you up with the long par 4's and reachable par 5's. Fun course!
Great place when you get a deal
I went on a Saturday which I tend to shy away from this course on the weekends, especially weekends during a major, cause every hacker in town tends to flood the course. For example, this last visit I was eventually behind a FIVESOME of the worlds worst slicers. While I do realize every one has to start somewhere, the Marshall was nowhere to be seen to help the speed of play. Which wouldn't bother me as much if they weren't so stern when their men's club or regulars are out playing. Keep it consistent for all paying customers.
That said, this course usually has a few great deals a week and this was the case for my last trip... $12 for 18!
The greens are well kept, and the fairways are decent. The rest is kind of poor. But this isn't the course to come to if you're looking for a view and beautiful water hazards.
top notch for the price
amazing conditions, amazingly maintained fairways and greens. cant wait to get back
Nice playable course
Overall Mint Valley is a good course for the money. The course was busy and play slowed at times. Only saw a course marshall one time during the round and might have been able to finish 18 in 4 1/2 hrs if there was more of a presence. I will definitely play the course again.
A very nice inexpensive golf experience
I have played this course 6 or 7 times. I would play it more often if it was a little closer. it is a very, well kept course that makes you hit all the shots, but does not beat you up. It lends itself to good pace of play. You don't pay extra for views, or extreme features, but get a good experience for a nice price. I will go back soon.
Well-maintained public course
when I booked a tee time on golfnow.com, no carts were available and there were no carts available when I showed up 30 minutes before the tee time. I ended up walking 9 holes without receiving any discount. I'll think twice in the future before booking with golfnow.com.
This course is well taken care of.
Mint Valley is a fun challenging course. It makes you think on every hole on where you want to hit your drive for the best angle to the green. Allot of public courses are not well taken care of but Mint Valley is well taken care of and the improvements are well noticed. I will be back.
Great course, avoid early play.
Very nice course. Well designed and maintained with good pro shop and food service. Played early and two of us finished in 2:50. Not fast enough for a group of 12 -16 regulars who each drive their own carts ( next to the greens and on the tee boxes also?) Let the first group of play through and because of the game they were playing they would leave a large nail through a golf ball to mark kp's. They should stay as one group if they want do that. Avoid play before 8:00.
Great Value for $7
We followed 2 with a power cart and kept an even pace with them. There were few on the course and we had some good exercise walking. We paid only $7 each and did not get rained on so we had a good time.
Great playable, affordable, and enjoyable course
Probably not a challenging enough course for those single digit handicaps, but very fun for a average golfer and wife on o weekend afternoon. Course is in excellent conditions with superb greens, and very walkable. Great experience and will return for more golf.
short, quirky front... regular longer back
enjoyable, well maintained, dry weather course
inexpensive and no pressure play
