Knew nothing about the course before I played except a portion of course was built in 1921. A truly hidden gem that was laid out over some wild terrain. Front 9 is the original 9 and back 9 is the newer more traditional 9.
Front 9 has many hills and valleys the course plays over. This leads to several blind shots which we’re fun and add a lot of character to the course. 4th green has to be seen to be believed! Back 9 has housing as part of the course and also was built on hilly terrain. 15th and 16th holes are gorgeous holes and are worth the trip alone.
The house that Stricker built
Edgerton towne and country was a course I have always wanted to play. Glad I finally did. It sneaky good. I think a place if you play multiple times and know the ins and outs you could score really well.
They are a lot of risk reward short SHORT par 4s. I took the safe route and was pretty successful.
Course conditions were pretty good considering we are in a drought. Greens were pretty good and received balls from the fairway well.
Pace of play was not great but got better as the day went on. The design of the course is great. Lots of twist and turns. I was a fan.
All in all if your in the area and want to get in a solid round I suggest Edgerton. Hey you might see Ryder cup captain Steve Stricker. This was his home course growing up.
This course is in pretty good shape for what it is. It is very hilly and undulated so a pretty precise shot is required to find a flat lie. The Tee Boxes could use some help and they need a can for broken tees. It looked trashy. My biggest complaint of all is the signage (or lack there of). It was horrible to try and find your way around the golf course. I have played at many courses that don't have a full cart path, but this place was so poorly marked we almost hit into the wrong green. Unless you have a low handicap, I would not recommend this place for the average weekend golfer. Sorry Steve.
Ball placement on certain holes is very important. You can lose some balls in the woods if you are not hitting the ball straight.
Nice day to play golf
This was my first time playing Edgerton Town, I can see why Steve S. is a great golfer!! If you can concur this course, you will kill it anywhere. Local knowledge is king and I have to say the Pro gave me a little, wish I would have listened better and asked for more. He was great, thanks. I am looking forward to coming back and showing that course who is boss or at least take revenge on a few holes.
First time playing the course this year, not happy. Two greens were temporary. Course just didn't seem in as good of shape as in the past. No bang for the buck
Short but tough
Great layout. Lots of fun. Don't let the lenth fool you - play the course.
Interesting, challenging and fun.
Very interesting course challenging but fun. Fairways were in very good shape considering we are experiencing a drought. The greens need improvement. The staff was friendly, pace was moving right along and the fee was a bargain. We will definitely return.
Scenic Views...Decent Condition
This course is obviously the home course of Steve Stricker. The entire course is quite scenic, with a lot of blind shots and hills throughout. The front nine is quite squished together, while the newer back 9 is spread out a lot more. However, they did not buy out all of the land before developing, so you will be driving around a neighborhood between a few of the holes.
However, the maintenance off the course was not fabulous. Part of it was poorly maintained bunkers, and the other part was that some of the greens were absolute garbage. They either were not mowed short enough (felt like putting on the fairway) or they are a different type of grass. It is very annoying when there isn't consistency on a course (aka if the greens change speed from hole to hole).
Overall, I would say that it is a beautiful course that you should try to play. Watch out for the golf lessons...if you get caught behind the junior golfers you'll be waiting for a long time before you can pass them.
This course has a variety of holes
We enjoyed playing this course. It had a lot of variety and is a gorgeous piece of property. There were two temporary greens on two very challenging holes but this didn't effect our golfing experience appreciably. We understand that green maintenance has to occur sometime. The people working on the course were personable and friendly.
Hilly 18 holes with lots of fun shots. Went later in year and we were open the whole time. Friendly staff and would definitely go again for the price!
Fun golf course, great elevation changes
The front 9 is old school, the back 9 more up to date, both were alot of fun. Both have different challenges
Strange starting on hole number 10 which was along way from hole number 9.
Staff was very friendly. I asked the assistant pro for any tips on the course and he took the time to go through the whole course! Regulars on the course were very courteous, 3 groups let me play through.
Course is a good challenge! Smart play on a lot of holes is placement over distance.
Back 9 is newer rand open. Front 9 is older and has a lot of character.
I started before 7 am but when I came around the turn the starting hole was about 5 groups deep. Want to start early on the weekends.
Will definitely play there again.
Steve Stricker's Home Course
Had a great time playing here. There are a lot of elevation changes and blind shots into the fairways and greens. Was kind of strange that they started everyone on the back nine but it all worked out. The front nine is very challenging but pretty fun as well. It was a holiday so the place was very busy but groups in front and behind were pleasant to talk to when we got jammed up a few times. Go play this course!
Course has many hills
Wanted to play the course that Steve Stricker got his start. Was surprised at how hilly the course was. Most everything was in great shape except some of the cart paths. Very scenic. Helps to be familiar with the course as there are some blind shots. All in all it was a great day.
Course was in excellent shape. They are making some improvements to areas that were once covered in brush and long grass by cleaning it out to improve the overall appearance and to speed up play.
Great course will play again,Golf now made it affordable ,quick and easy,
Good value with friendly staff
The course was a great value for 18 holes riding on a holiday weekend at $20. The greens were in poor shape because they were mowed too short especially around the fringes and I'd be concerned they burn out with no moisture in the next couple weeks but the staff said this was done intentionally to widen the fringe. The staff were very friendly and helpful and provided free home made chips in the clubhouse afterwards.
