Need a Ranger
Biggest problem with this course is pace of play. There are no rangers on the course. I have played it quickly, but often you run into groups that are just playing ridiculously slow. I saw a family of six new golfers playing as one group. I have seen walkers that I wasn't sure they would have the strength to finish based on how slow they were walking. My last visit we got stuck behind a five-some of what appeared to be local retired guys. They seemed focused on staying on the course for as long as possible. We had at least two groups just give up rather than wait for them.
Great Little Course!
I was staying with family and looking for a deal spot to sneak in 18. I got there and the staff was great. You could tell this was a well-loved local hangout, but they didn't bat an eye helping a newcomer navigate the course. The course was in great shape! The greens were a bit shaggy, but I'd rather have slower greens than rock-hard bare spots like most other courses are dealing with this summer. Even though it was only a nine hole course, there were a couple nice open driver holes, and some with deceptively narrow fairways. The layout offered a fun over-water par 3 and a few sharp doglegs that offered some risk/reward shots for those that can shape your wood shots. There were enough other little challenges, but the bunkers were pretty tiny and not really in the way enough to pose a legitimate threat. Overall, I will definitely be back, and would recommend this spot to all!
Pretty fun and relaxed course. Pace of play was a little slow, but they also allowed a bunch of people to play solo and stacked which is what I did. So grateful for that and can’t complain about pace of play because of it. Pretty nice 9 hole loop. Interesting layout and well kept. Otherwise a not very challenging course, but fun to play.
Small Town, Big Fun
Laid back fun round. Course was in great shape. Will be heading back very soon. Used the hot deals price, best value I have found on Golf Now so far.
Ellsworth golf resort
9 holes, you go around twice for 18. Nice course, nice layout, greens are a little over watered but overall nice conditions, would play again, nice challenge
Ellsworth
Great 9 hole course! Hit the creamery and brewery while in town.
Great course
It had some long challenging holes and fun shorter ones. Staff is friendly. We had a great time!!
Ok course
It's a good, scenic layout. But other than the greens, which were good, the course was in very "shaggy" shape. In many spots, it was hard to tell the fairway from the rough. Okay for hackers, and there were quiet a few there. Pace of play was okay, but there were a lot slow, bad golfers on a 9 hole course and when you are trying to play 18, you just run into them again and again.
Fun course, great deal
I have played this course six times in the last month and it is in great shape, well maintained. Beautiful greens with subtle slopes. In the twin cities you end up paying $50 - $75 for courses similar to this one.
