The Club at Shannondell, formerly known as George Washington Golf Course, has been ranked by Golf Digest as one of the "25 Best Golf Courses in Pennsylvania" and it's also on their list of "Best Places to Play." From the back tees, the course is just over 6,100 yards. Put away your driver because there won't be many chances to grip it and rip it on this course. It's a seemingly mild layout with wide, gently rolling fairways that appear forgiving, but the strategically placed hazards along the pitched greens demand well placed shots. The cut of the rough is also higher and there are several doglegs, placing even further emphasis on accuracy. Proper club selection is also very important on this golf course. The Club at Shannondell is a fun but fair test for players of all skill levels.

6 hour round of golf
Have played here many times, but at a certain point the pace of play just makes this course unplayable. Expect a 6 hour round on the weekend (like I just had), tee times not spaced apart well and a course with no ranger or marshal to make sure groups are playing at an acceptable pace.
Okay course
The course itself is well maintained and has plenty of ball cleaners, trash cans, and out houses. Maybe it was the windy conditions but we had so many close calls, almost getting hit by other golfers' shots. The holes are packed pretty tight so wayward balls were a constant. The club house is not close to the 10th hole so it's not convenient to grab a quick snack coming off the front nine. No driving range which to me is a negative.
Did not read the fine print. Walking Only. No Pull Carts Available. Cart Path Only would have been a sensible option but for a 71 year old Senior golfer, not an easy walk with carrying the bag. Could not finish the round.
Another awful day at Shannondell
Pace is awful nearly every time I play here. Guaranteed to be backed up on 10. Staff are miserable - unfriendly, unhelpful and just plain rude.
Wet course
Course cancelled tee time and saved me a wasted drive but too late to get refund from GolfNo.
