The Club at Shannondell, formerly known as George Washington Golf Course, has been ranked by Golf Digest as one of the "25 Best Golf Courses in Pennsylvania" and it's also on their list of "Best Places to Play." From the back tees, the course is just over 6,100 yards. Put away your driver because there won't be many chances to grip it and rip it on this course. It's a seemingly mild layout with wide, gently rolling fairways that appear forgiving, but the strategically placed hazards along the pitched greens demand well placed shots. The cut of the rough is also higher and there are several doglegs, placing even further emphasis on accuracy. Proper club selection is also very important on this golf course. The Club at Shannondell is a fun but fair test for players of all skill levels.

Course
The course was in great shape, it would of been better if the greens could of had the leaves blown off. There were some holes where we had to search for our golf balls that were on the green
Below average
Golfnow says 72 even, turns out to be 70 - and also overall course layout is very poor. Feel free to give it a try but I don't think I'll ever go back.
Enjoyable Golf
In excellent condition for this time of the year. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Worst pace of play I’ve seen on a golf course and we waited on almost every shot. Left after 12 holes
Sunday Morning
I was lucky to get out before the Phillies game on Sunday and before it began to rain. The course was in great condition and I was able to get out early enough to get finished in three hours. $46 to walk on a Sunday is amazing and the course is always in great shape. I just wish they would convert 14 back to a par four.
Long rounds, no sand, bad layout
This course gets backed up very easily. Most of the holes are narrow doglegs with other holes very close. There is so much cross traffic from other players on different holes. You are waiting every hole for other people hitting their balls that are on different holes. Took over 3 hours for the front 9. We quit on the back 9 because we didn’t want to waste anymore time here. Every bunker was either overgrown with grass or just rock and dirt, No sand present. Would never go back.
Pleasantly surprised
Had to finally come play after reading mostly good reviews and got a hot deal.
Tees, fairways and greens all were in good condition.
Lots of doglegs and expect to see others on your fairway.
Some of the bunkers were empty of sand and just left for grass to grow. The bunkers that did have sand were good.
I enjoyed the course and will come back to play now that I’ve seen some of the holes with specific landing areas.
