Great Course
This is a beautiful course, well maintained. I've played multiple times here this year and each time have been pleased. Well laid out holes, but rather difficult. Greens are in very good shape. Would recommend playing here.
Great shape
Course is in the best shape ever. Very friendly staff.good pace of play. Look for bargains on golfnow.com
Northwoods Golf
Played many courses in the northwoods, but this course stands out. Great condition, fair layout and challenging greens. I've found this course to be such a great value, especially when it can be booked as a hot buy.
Beautiful scenery!
Could not ask for a more perfect day!
Course beautiful, saw deer in woods.
Our foursome enjoyed the golf tremendously.
Will golf here again!!
Always satisfied
I make a point to play here every summer and am never disappointed. The greens are FAST! Course conditions are always on point. Bunkers have a lot of small pebbles in them but that's due to the type of sand used up here I think. Pace of play is really my only complaint here and its one they've always had. Much of it may not be controllable by the course as some players simply don't understand the concept of letting groups play through, however a ranger actively keeping things moving would be nice...Ps Stay below the cup on the greens or you'll be 3-putting a ton!
The green complexes on this course are challenging. No gimmies on this course given the green speeds (on the day I played) and coupled with the slopes on each green.
First time playing
Played on a Saturday in late July. Staff was friendly from the pro shop to the starter. Pace of play could have been better. Course was in good shape and had some interesting holes. Green fees for this course should be around $50 - 55 with a cart.
Enjoyable Course
Many area courses can be a bit tight but Timber Ridge plays like a full size course with ample fairways and rough. You'd really have to spray one to lose it in the woods. Good length and very good course conditions. Halfway house (you pass it twice) for snacks or drinks. One of the better area courses in my opinion.
This course has excellent scenery
Very well maintained course. Couple of harder par 5's to challenge any player.
Up north
I had played this course a couple of years back and didn't remember much. It had rained a bunch the days leading up to the round. Booked a hot deal not expecting much. But wow, the course drained extremely well. No cart restrictions and was in fabulous shape. Staff was very friendly. And even though I got a hot deal, this course would've easily been worth full price.
Fair Test for ALL golfers
I played 6 times in 9 days over the July 4th holiday period. You think I would get bored with the same layout but every day brings a new challenge with Timber Ridge.
The frequent tight tee shots mean one day when you are on your game it is no problem but other days the 8-9 tee shots that do require accuracy play on your mind.
Then some days the course is a 2nd shot course.
John and the Team are so friendly and accommodating and as I am an early starter I get to chat occasionally with the grounds staff while getting around the course.
The Greens complexes can be challenging and I recommend trying to leave your approach below the hole as otherwise you are in 3 putt territory.
The terrain and wild life always reminds me that I am in the Northwoods and I could always travel a bit further to try some other courses (which I did in the past) but Timber Ridge provides a daily challenge but keeps the familiarity and hospitality a golfer always looks for.
Great track
My new favorite course in the Northwoods. Great value, perfect conditions, nice staff.
Excellent!
Timber Ridge was extremely enjoyable. There has been a lot of rain but the course was in excellent condition.
This course was dry
The course was in great shape. We had heavy rain and storms Monday ,Tuesday ,Wednesday a Thursday morning but the course was dry on the fairways and greens, some of the sand traps had water in them. When we walked off the course are pants and shoes were dry. The workers at Timber Ridge were very nice and helpfully.
Great layout and scenery. Course came through winter in fine shape.
