About
Northwood Golf Club provides a pleasant getaway that has the advantage of being less crowded than a metropolitan course and the convenience of being less than three hours north of Wisconsin's major cities. The peaceful feeling of seclusion is enhanced even further by the course's location just minutes from hundreds of lakes as well as the Pelican and Wisconsin Rivers. The golf course plays across rolling, wooded hills. Mature trees frame the holes and they helped to carve the shape of the challenging doglegs. Northwood is a course that will test your accuracy but it is also more forgiving than it seems. There are a few holes featuring water hazards including the par-3 11th, which has an island green. Wind is also a factor on many holes.

The best course in or around Rhinelander. Always in good shape and facilities are great.

This course always beats me and it's still one of my favorite golf experiences all year. I rarely miss an opportunity to get back here.
Great public course
Greens were perfect, fairways & rough very good too. Lots of woods and water with a few large boulders. Beautiful course!
Great course
Go play, very nice. No used to gas run carts though…great scenic tough enough, easy enough, perfect day.
It's in the area it's a must play
From Chicago came up to visit a friend and have not played her before. Staff was friendly course in great shape great layout Great Value would definitely play hers again highly recommend. Only bummer thing was the restaurant was not open
Northwood Good!
Played on Sunday morning and really enjoyed the course and facility! Course was pretty wet so not much roll but the greens obviously held. I actually had a couple of deep plugged shots. Beautiful looks all around the course and even a Hodag boulder in the middle of a fairway. Ha! Staff was nice and course was “busy”, but as a single I got around in just over 3 hours!
Great course in excellent shape, except for the fact that it rained several inches the day before so it was very wet with cart path rules in place.
Challenging
This course is beautiful but a real challenge. Fairways are narrow and somewhat crested in spots so it is easy to have your ball bounce into the rough. The ground cover in the woods is such that even though you only went in a few feet it is very difficult to find your ball. Bring plenty. Greens are in great shape but tough to read. In many cases, don’t be long on your approach or you will be in trouble. Good value for the money and staff is very nice. Don’t expect to score well and enjoy the beauty of the course.

Beautiful course, great layout and conditions, very friendly staff! Worth the 35 minute drive from Eagle River.
